Published: Wednesday 1st Sep 2010 by Trent

Fantasia has decided not to choose ‘Man of The House’ as the 2nd official single from her ‘Back To Me’ album. Instead, the R&B singer has opted to go with ‘I’m Doin’ Me’ which was produced by Chuck Harmony. ‘Back To Me’ debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 with sales surpassing 117k units. {Source}

I would probably agree with the second single choice, although I think there are a few other songs that could/should also see the single treatment such as “Whose Been lovin’ You” and “Cornbread and Collard Greens”

I LIKE IM DOING ME…NOT CERTAIN ABOUT A SINGLE…I WOULD PREFER THE THRILL IS GONE AS A SINGLE…BUT REGARDLESS ITS NEW MUSIC BY FANNIE

  3. Robier September 1, 2010

    Good song. she has many

  4. TheMan September 1, 2010

Man of the house was a good choice, but im doing me is just as good, but the Thrill is gone is a bonafide SMASH, she has so many potential singles to choose from

  5. Rd September 1, 2010

Im doin me is suchhhh a hit to me.. It goes eith her situation. And its like no more drama ftom mjb well atleast the message, fantasia shows great vocal constraint as well as a great sing a long track.. Very radio friendly and shows versatility, accompanied by a great young sicking video she can easily make another r and b top 10 hit!! Not to mention fanny has being doing some exceptional renditions of her bittersweet promoting “backtome” .. Every single performance has been jaw dropping.. Go
    Head team tasia!!!

  6. Hit September 1, 2010

    This is a HIT

  7. seriously? September 1, 2010

idk man of the house probably resonates more with her fanbase. But “feel like falling in love” is the true single of this album. guaranteed hit imo

  8. stan September 1, 2010

not a bad choice, i guess. it’s not the standout track on the album necessarily… but idk.

  9. CC September 1, 2010

Good decision i think…”Im Doing Me” has already entered the Top 50 on Urban AC radio! Plus its a good song….i personally prefer “Falling in love tonight” but whatever

  10. K. Muse September 1, 2010

I think this was a wrong choice for her to switch the single from ‘Man of The House”
The track is Amazing. She has garnered great response from it personally, of course 🙂 and from performing it Live..i.e. LOPEZ TONIGHT. “Man…” is anthemic, it would BANG in the clubs and at this point you just can’t wrong with a track penned by Ne-Yo. Just my opinion. Thanks.

Good i love that song and should be another top ten hopefully for fannie mae………
Jrecords is doing it up Monica now has 2 back 2 back #1 r&b singles on the charts
and she rising on hot100 too…….Now its time for Jazmine Sullivan to do work!!!!!!!!

    yasssss! is my jam!!

  13. Beysbetter September 1, 2010

WTHELL TASIA? Where is “MOVE ON ME” <——THEE BEST SONG ON THE WHOLE ALBUM!

  14. Areis September 1, 2010

“The thrill is gone” has to be the third single, it really stands out on the album and now that Cee-lo is back with the F*** YOU song, this would be good for Fantasia sense he’s on that track…. Also I need for Fantasia to give us just a little bit more stage presence I was not to excited about her stage performance on the Lopez show…. all that screaming and running mmmmm!!!

  15. XXOO September 1, 2010

Better choice than Man of the House. Hopefully Falling in Love Tonight is the 3rd single

  16. James September 1, 2010

I agree with K. Muse… “Man Of The House” was an excellent choice both for instrumentation and vocals… But with that being said, I do understand the potential reason for switch… “I’m Doin’ Me” is almost a testimonial to her current situation… Singing for Fantasia seems like therapy, so “I’m Doin’ Me” would allow her to serve that purpose… My vote is still for “Falling In Love Tonight”… That is her “When I See You” single for me…

  17. T-sParkz September 1, 2010

Im Doin Me is a good single choice for her situation right now. She bettah come hard wit dat next single though. Maybe Move On Me or The thrill is Gone. She’s pretty solid right now but she needs to shut the game down!!!!!!

  18. MrIncredible September 1, 2010

Better choice! I probably would have gone with Move On Me though.

  19. Jason September 1, 2010

i think she should release ”THE WORST PART IS OVER” as her second single its one of her best on the album

  20. Reina September 1, 2010

doin me is a good song, but its crazy how she has so many singles she could choose, thats a sign of a great album

  21. MUSIC LOVER September 1, 2010

I love “Man of the House” so much better!!! I’m disappointed to hear this.

  22. mike September 1, 2010

i think the worst part is over is da best song right now for her situation.

  23. UGh September 2, 2010

what about Move on Me? oh well. i love all the songs on the album and anyone could be a single. Good luck Tasia

  24. LuvMeDJ September 2, 2010

I’m not really crazy about the change…she has so many other BETTER sounds on the album. The hell they thinkin? But…watever.

  25. criss_vaughn September 2, 2010

Her label obviously wants to choose a song that deals with what she’s going thru. Its more touching and will get more media attention for her to proclaim her freedom and life changing experience thru performing I’m Doin’ Me, rather than singing about bein the ‘man of the house’. I hope Man Of The House will be third though.

  26. pookie September 2, 2010

move on me is the best…then the cornbread song and thrill is gone….also love her version of Teach me…makes me think about Lauryn Hill and Bob Marley duet

  27. KD September 2, 2010

MOVE ON ME should become a single, that song does things to me (eargasm in the extreme, makes me think of wild passionate love-making and a bunch of other nasty s***)

  28. royalkev September 2, 2010

I like I’m doing me just as much as I do Man of the house. I heard Man of the house way before I brought the album. That’s why I may be a little bias. I’m doing me is fresh to me because it’s brand new! I think the switch is a safe move. I also like Move on me and Thrill is gone(maybe) for singles. My personally favorite is Even Angels!

  29. cameron September 3, 2010

WHEWWW!!!! There is a GOD…I have never understood why they chose “Man of the house” as the second single. So glad she changed it. Man of the house, doesn’t grab the listener’s attention. “I’m Doin Me” relates to her current situation and It’s a song that will get heavy rotation on the radio because it’s catchy…So Thank God!

  30. Lia September 6, 2010

The Thrill is Gone is the JAM!!! The drum intro alone is hot! Move On Me is also s***!! I’m doin’ Me is just a response to her dramatic episode this year and I don’t think she needs anymore attention to her mishaps. Let it go and move on. People want to forget about it and not be remebered about her stupidty…..put out a single that just SLAPS! Love ya Tasia!
