Just three weeks after Chris Brown‘s comeback effort ‘F.A.M.E’ topped the Billboard 200, it has been announced that the album has been certified Gold.

The album, which has spawned chart smashes ‘Deuces’ and ‘Yeah 3x’, has officially shipped 500,000 copies according to the singer’s label, Jive.
A great feat given Brown’s prior circumstance (as well as the industry’s current sales climate). Yet, a feat made all the more impressive by the LP almost doubling its initial 270,000 opening week figures in such short space of time.
As at writing, ‘F.A.M.E’ sits at #6 on the Bilboard 200, while its latest single ‘She Ain’t You’ ascends on Urban radio.
Platinum, at this point, certainly looks more a case of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’. Go Chris!

Ticket sales for a Chris Brown concert in Perth, Australia are selling poorly, and promoters are taking drastic measure to make sure they sell more.
A three-for-one sale is being offered for the show at the Burswood Dome on May 3.
Brown will be joined by Jess Mauboy, Justice Crew and DJ Havana Brown.
Promoter Daniel Pritchard says that the sales are low because of the fact other urban artists like Usher and Rihanna have performed there recently. He says there is “no chance” that the concert will move to a smaller venue. He claims that it is not because of Brown’s recent Good Morning America incident, saying sales actually tripled after that.

The summer is coming up and I believe sales can pick up. I’m sure when he releases that ‘Next to You’ with JB (that’s a smash in waiting) it’s gonna help sell the album too. Not to mention the videos for that and ‘She Aint You’ I’m sure will also create a lot of buzz! CB is a very ‘ visual artist’, so I think his videos as well as his performances are a huge part of his selling factor.
For people trying to downplay this, (you know who you are) this IS a big deal cause a good half of the artist that have released albums recently don’t see Gold Status and you know thats a FACT! The industry is s*** right now and only a handful of artist go Gold let alone Platinum so kill it with that FLOP BS cause that word does NOT apply to CB AT ALL! F.A.M.E. has already outsold his last album within 3 weeks and that’s a huge step in the right direction! He is on the right track and Platinum is in the future!

Um….I agree that the media was biased and treated CB unfairly but what you said is NOT true and you know it! Nic Cage was NOT arrested for beating he s*** out of his wife! He reportedly ‘shoved’ her during an arguement and was arrested for DV and public drunkeness! ‘Shoving’ someone and ‘beating’ them is not the same thing! Being that Nic Cage was drunk and obviously not in his right state of mind that is going to play a factor. Plus his wife is not famous and this is a completely different situation than CB.
Don’t exaggerate and add extras on it making it worse than what it was cause that’s exactly what the media did to Chris! …..itunes at s*** when it comes to tracking ALBUM sales. In F.A.M.E.’s first week itunes/digital sales overall only accounted for 60k of the 270k sold total. So digital sales aren’t where his album is selling from. Lastly if digital sales were anything when referring to ALBUMS for example Wiz Khalifa would not be selling the same thing as Chris’ 4th week for his 3rd week! Because he has been higher on itunes. Obviously pyhsical copies is where it’s at for him. And if tanking on itunes with album sales had to do with anything wouldn’t Britney Spears be outselling Chris’ weeks by miles? Her album does pretty well on itunes. Let’s see I just know her 2nd and 3rd week are worse than his 2nd and 3rd week sales. Again another example. You wanna tell me itunes ALBUM stats again?
