What do you mean delayed?!? Chris NEVER gave a release date. He said forever ago that it would come later on this year and but after that he consistently said that Fortune would come after F.A.M.E would go platinum. Obviously he has stuck with that.

F.A.M.E. will probably be platinum by the end of the year and since he is about to go on tour all of his focus should on his tour. Cince he has so many shows back to back he really doesn’t have time to promote the album and give it the full attention it deserves while he is touring. It makes sense for it to come out next year. I always thought it would anyway.

He has at least a dozen features and enough music on the charts to hold him over until next year. He has colloborated with so many artist and is featured on so many records he I think it’s best that he hold off on ‘Fortune’ so that we can really anticipate new music from him. I hope it comes out Spring of next year.

I don’t mind at all!I think that the ‘F.A.M.E.’ era is not really done yet.The album has at least 2 more potential singles and there is not even a video or a proper release date for ‘Wet The Bed’ yet, so it would be too early to drop another album. And he has that hip-hop mixtape too.Anyway, glad to hear that Chris has more creative control on this album and I am anticipating for the WTB video and hopefully another one with a tight choreo too.

Anywho, saw this interview earlier. I understand Kmac is his boy and I am sure he knows a lot about ‘Fortune’ and what’s gonna be on it, but I just wish they would keep most of the details under wrap. I just feel like whenever CB or anyone even mentions ‘Fortune’ more songs leak. Another song leaked in full on the internet the other day and that’s like the fourth song I’ve heard in full that’s supposed to be on the album. I’m so worried that damn near the whole album will leak before next year. I feel like the less they speak on it publicly and the less we know the less chance there will be of it leaking to early.

I’m also annoyed that he said he was ‘all over’ the album too. I really hope that he means he just did a lot of writing and won’t have too many features. I think he is a dope writer and most of the records he and CB have written together I like but I’m not a fan of his voice. It’s so annoying how KMac & Seven just pop up on so many of CB’s songs! I really hope he starts working the Joelle James more! I LOVE her voice and she isn’t always screaching like Seven!

S/N: I swear Kmac is looks like Ne Yo in this clip and that is sooo not a compliment. SMH.

I want to know why Chris’ label isn’t properly releasing or promoting his singles. “Beautiful People” was supposed to be released after Yeah 3x and it was released overseas and did very well worldwide, but never impacted the US charts. Then he made a video for Next 2 U, but the single was never officially released, which was stupid, and he released Wet The Bed, but there’s no promo for that single or any hype surrounding it. WTF? He’s sold over 700,000 copies in the US and 1,000,000 worldwide, the album would have sold more had they managed those singles correctly. I don’t know why so many singles are being released, but nothing’s being done to promote them. It would be stupid of him to release Fortune this year since the F.A.M.E. era isn’t done. Will they hurry the hell up and officially release Next 2 U?

  9. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) September 2, 2011

@THEREALLOLA The reason why N2Y was not released officially is because it wasn’t getting the expected response from pop and rhythimc radio (no shade) and besides it had already peaked in March, when people were downloading it as an album track without being a single..As far as ‘Beautiful People’ is concerned, the label knew that they should focus on cementing Chris’ position on the urban farefront, so a pop single wouldn’t be the best idea to launch the album. And there is some buzz for ‘Wet The Bed’.It’s just been released anyway, but it’s climbing fast on Urban radio so I don’t see what you’re so worried about

    ————————————————————————————————

That’s cause JIVE ain’t s***, never was s***, and will NEVER be s***! They could have handled this whole F.A.M.E. era a so much better. They missed the ball with quite a few singles, especially ‘Beautiful People’. It did well overseas & especially in the UK but it could have been so big here in the states if it had just promoted it and released as an official single! I really think JIVE was too stuck up Britney’s ass to give CB the support he needed. The fact that they certified her album platinum when F.A.M.E. to date STILL sold more than hers just irks my soul!

I noticed that since he signed with RCA several of the leak songs from ‘Fortune’ have been blocked on Youtube & several other sites. So I do think that now that he is with a new label we will see a lot of improvement. I noticed CB is one of the few male r&b acts on the label so he won’t have many artist to compete with in his field.

I don’t think they are ever going to ‘officially’ release ‘Next 2 You’ as a single though and I really could give a damn at this point cause I am so over that song. I really think they only released that it cause it featured JB and they figured it would be a instant hit. They should have released it as a official single right after the video was released! To think that they spent all that money on the video just to let it peak at No. 26 and then let it completely fall off the charts. SMH.

I seriously wish they had released ‘All Back’ instead. That song was LIFE and vocally and lyrically was one of the best songs he’s ever recorded! Most importantly it didn’t feature ANYONE so that could be his hit alone. That song could have slaaayed pop radio. SMH.

I also think ‘Oh My Love’ would have made a good single choice too. I wish it had been in place of ‘Yeah 3x’. *shrugs*

And ‘Wet the Bed’ was definitely a fan favorite from F.A.M.E. It has like over 4 million hits on Youtube before it’s release. It was is marketed to his urban audience and it was only released to urban radio. It’s doing quite well on the r&b charts so it was a smart single choice. He was catering to his urban audience with that one which I understand.

I really think there might be one or two more singles from F.A.M.E and then this era is a wrap. I’m guessing ‘Oh My Love’ and possibly ‘Paper, Scissors, Rock’. We shall see.

    ——————————————————————————-

Um….. ”Yeah 3x’ was released as his first official single off of F.A.M.E. so clealy JIVE DID use a pop song to launch the album. That was released back in 2010 and they didn’t release another single until ‘LAMN’ which came in early 2011. ‘LAMN’ was only supposed to be serviced to urban radio for obvious reasons. Luckily that became a smash and wound up being the single that carried him up to his album release.

‘Beautiful People’ was a great single choice and extremely well overseas so it could have done well if they promoted properly. ‘Oh My Love’ would have shitted on ‘Yeah 3x’.

I hope when he releases Fortune they actually handle his singles better. Like everything would go great for him if he had the kind of team like other artist have that are ALWAYS on it. So many singles could have done better had they been released correctly. Next To You, Beautiful People, etc. Beautiful People in the states luckly shot up itunes charts after last weekend. But I don’t understand why the only singles they released officially and gave some type of promo was Look At Me Now and Yeah 3x. All they did was make a video for Next To You then they didn’t send it to radio or anything….like do they not want the singles to do well? Then they certifie Britney’s album platnium and to date he has sold like maybe 50k more albums than her so far and he is only certified gold? B*******. Fortune better be handled better and they better make the rest of the F.A.M.E. era good.

    But Fortune>>>>>>>>

It will slay! I know it. Open Road needs to be his lead single! IDC! Usually he doesn’t really have slow songs as his lead single but he needs to do it, that song is something special.

  22. BREEZYTHEBEST( AKA CHRIS IS KING) September 3, 2011

I really think Chris should make a 100% r&b album, his urban songs from FAME did better than his pop songs even on the mainstream charts.

  23. Beyonce: Simply The Queen September 3, 2011

Fortune>>>>> F.A.M.E no contending with that but open road will flop as a single. Yeah it’s an awesome song but it’s not single material. Listen just because we stans think a record is great doesn’t mean the majority will feel that way and majority was what you need to sell albums to go platinum. If you placed your sole preference on what your stans think is great then no artist will go too far cause honestly anything modestly great to a Stan is amazing. I’m a Stan myself but of all leaked songs from fortune so far treading water seems to be the best and it’s no single material either. For fortune I wanna see Chris sing about other things….,about growing up, maturing not crying and always wishing to have loved someone better. His sang all that now let’s move pass that. I think people want a complete new side, a new flavor,
Like on F.A.M.E I could swore that have heard him sing something like all back, she ain’t you a zillion times and am overrrrrrr it and I think so are alot of people. That’s not the only aspect to his life,,,,,i wanna hear something real grown and mature on Fortune

  24. Beyonce: Simply The Queen September 3, 2011

He needs to stick to what his good at and what his known for, leave the rap for mixtapes. Pop is good but not his strongest suite. He just doesn’t know how incredible he sounds when he just sings. I mean when christopher sings..,,, words can not describe. He sounds angelic but with s*** undertones. His singing voice is beautiful

I can tell you one thing. F.A.M.E won’t go platinum by the end of this year…i hope it will get certified though, but in sales? nah, the album will probably have a little push from the VMA’s next week but it won’t be enough to create that kind of longetivity it needs. it will soon go back to selling 7k a week..unfortunatly! and with that speed, the album will probably hit the 1 milli by the end of next year! i calculated it all a week or 2 ago and it really needs more promotion to sell a milli before january..

  27. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) September 3, 2011

@VA STAND UP LAMN was used to launch the album.Yeah 3x was released 6 months before the album, how could it possibly have launched it??It was the lead single, but it wasn’t used to market the album. It was just his comeback single for pop radio like ‘Deuces’ was for the urban radio.
‘Beautiful People’ wouldn’t get any airplay on urban and maybe not even on pop radio because it has some slight house and techno influences that wouldn’t fit with the generic playlist.I want ‘Oh My Love’ released too.I don’t think it’s going to be a smash but it’s my favorite from the album and I’d like to see a video with some jaw droppinh choreo.’Paper Scissors Rock’ could easily become a big hit and I love it as well.

  28. zania September 3, 2011

I honestly think they didn’t release NEXT TO YOU, is because they wanted to move more album units, just by JB being on single and hoping that some of his fans would by the album because JB was supporting CB. But it didn’t increase the album sales, so they should’ve promoted the single and released it. I am glad he decided not to release another album before fame reach its potential in sales. Chris urban songs didn’t do as well as his rap songs, Deuces, LAMN, someone said he should do a 100 R & B album, I disagree, because Chris is international star, and Yeah 3x went 4 times platinum in Australia and Beautiful people did well over seas more than his Urban hits. I think rap songs is what sells and pop songs. Yeah 3x didn’t do as good as LAMN on the 100 chart, but it went platinum, so that was good. So far he has 2 platinum singles and 1 double platinum single from this album in the US. I think NO Bull only went Gold. As he win back some mainstream fans I think his pop singles will do fine

  29. zania September 3, 2011

I think Yeah 3x would’ve did better than LAMN if it was promoted on the radios, if you remember top 40 station in New York wasn’t playing his songs and there were a whole lot of pop stations still banning him last year. But now a whole lot of pop station is finally playing his music if we request it. I agree that Open Road will not impact the charts if he release that as his lead single, because the only music that is actually selling is POP generic music and Rap songs, S** songs. Someone said for him to do a urban album, but there has been over 10 urban artist who released an album this year and they didn’t sell. The only urban artist who came a little close to Chris sales is R Kelly , J hudson and Jill Scott went Gold but as of this month they only sold 300,000. So I hope Chris mix up a little not all urban songs.

  30. King Makers September 3, 2011

I agree 100% i wish he release a video for “talk ya ear off” with some serious MJ military choreography behind it. Yeah 3x could have had a better name cos its really an amazing record & yes i remember that song shot to the charts against all odds, with a shredded name and media heavy blackballing, its a supprise how he still makes song that pop at all. 2009 & 2010 was a nightmare for chris, both Graffiti & FAME could have done alot better than or atleast on similar levels as any of Katy Perry’s albums but I guess Rihanna was getting all of Chris’s attention.

All Chris brown’s money was paid into Rihanna’s account thats why they think she is the s*** now. Chris is not completely out of the pits yet, and I just hope he isn’t comparing his record sales to Gaga, Katie, Beyonce, Nicki or Lil wayne those people have always been in the public good grace. He should just remain humble and continue to grow like he is doing, very soon he will make the lost days back with his incredible talent and creativity.

FAME wasn’t promoted in the UK either. I heard more of LOUD & 4 than any album advertised. Chris still has alot of obstacles to overcome both amaongst his colleagues, the public, the industry in general and the media b4 he can really be where he clearly deserves to be at. Apart from BET, he is still clearly snubbed in award shows like Grammys, VMAs, MOBOs, BMIs, Billboards etc So i’d just say Chris should be patient and let God fight his battles for him.

Good thing is that there are no band wagon fans in Team Breezy, they genuinly love him and wish the best for him. Everyone knows Chris is supper talented and will one day become the King of Pop but for now, Neyo, Trey Songz, Jason Derulo, Miguel will continue shinning. I don’t mind Drake but Nicki Minaj shouldn’t be as big as she is but just like Tryler, anyone accepted by white people will do well, just ask Rihanna & Bruno Mars.

I don’t want him to waste anymore money on videos cos Next to you wsn’t the best of choices for a single but it remains a classic. Right now, he just needs to tour the world cos he has been away for too long especially cos he is an international star. He should do songs from Graffiti, In my Zone 1& 2, Fan of a Fan, Boy in detention & Fame bringing Kmac, Seven, Joelle, Brandy, Kerry Hilson, Tyga, David Banner, Teyanna Taylor, etc to support him. FAME still has the potential of getting that Platinum status with the right promo cos those songs virtually did well on their own.

But Chris is getting money anyways, He is in demand in clubs festivals and gigs. His fans base in the UK are amazing but not enough so he needs to return here asap. UK is ignorant when it comes to artist character, they buy what ever USA media tell them so, Teambreezy in Uk is also suffering seriously. France, Germany, Rusia etc have not been considered in this project at all. I just think Chris should leave albums and video for now and catch up with his fans all around they world. He will definitely make more money that way that any album sale especially his African fans.

  31. isabella! September 3, 2011

why is everybody blaming the singles for why F.A.M.E has sold 1 million in the US? its not because the record company isn’t promoting it, it is because they were not great songs, i wish all my love came out instead of yeah 3x, they could of kept beautiful people, and the video for it sucked too. She aint you was a good song but didn’t chart well. LAMN was a good choice, with next 2 you they thought because of justin beiber it would do well which it didnt’, WTB won’t do that well, and beautiful people didn’t do good at all. Chris brown made these songs, so why are you blaming the label for how bad they are. You should blame chris for making crappy songs, there was alot of potential on this album but it was over powered by the trash. If the album was truly great it should be selling based off of the album itself and not the choice in singles. i used to be a CB fan but he just jump right into the whole dance craze which wouldn’t be bad if he just kept more tracks like exclusive, or what he had on his debut. DO YOU THINK THAT SOMEONE IS GOING TO BUY A WHOLE ALBUM JUST BECAUSE THEY LIKE ONE SONG? NO IF THE ALBUM WAS THAT GOOD IT WOULD SELL BY ITSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT HATING THIS IS THE TRUTH

Yeahhh Chris’ music just does it for me, can’t wait to see him in concert! And you are correct, any of his music that he does will be accepted as amazing (by a stan) after hearing it over and again. I actually did not care for Yeah3x until I saw the amazing video and dance; then it grew on me, I fell in love with Yeah3x because of the beauty found only in a great video with the help of Collin Tilley ( who makes awlsome videos); and that made me think that Jive should have promoted FAME better so that the HUGE record sales that FAME started out with would have continued with longivity even during a recession.

  36. MISHKA September 3, 2011

    FORTUNE should be delayed.

Even if the album has been poorly promoted, FAME hasn’t run its course yet. “All back” and “Up to You” should have received the single treatment since forever. “Bomb” should have been promoted this summer by Chris and Wiz.

FAME album was about bringing CB back and proving he’s still got it. We’re done with this. Before releasing FORTUNE, Chris Brown has to figure out what would be the message behind the album.

    ——————————————————————

‘Open Road’ as a LEAD single?! Ugh! No! It’s too slow and it’s such a sappy ballad. I don’t think he should release a ballad as a first single anyway! Especially something that’s gonna make everyone think he is singing about his ex! How cheesy would that be?!

Chris has always released something upbeat as a first single. A dance record for the clubs, whether it be urban or pop but never anything sappy or depressing! He needs a big club record that will smash the radio! So far we haven’t heard that yet all we’ve heard are ballads.

Of all the ballads I’ve heard that have leaked so far (sighs) ‘Fools With You’ is the best bet for single choice, and possibly ‘Treading Water’. I don’t think ‘Open Road’ would be a good single choice at all! It’s a dope record lyrically & vocally but I can’t see it getting single treatment.

I do think that ‘Fortune’ is gonna s*** on FAME though. I can feel it.

  38. King Makers September 3, 2011

Chris can work with Janet Jackson, SWV, Joel Santana, Tevin Campbell etc with his new album. This will definately service his Urban Fans 100%

No more sad & sorry songs like Adele & enough of s** songs, its become irritating. Just like lil wayne diversify into other equally impactful topics.

He is creative so he should get out of USA and go to India, Africa etc to shoot his videos while he auditions for the next “Spider Man” as he already has the physic, stamina and image of an underground super hero.

Chris Brown is amazing in everything he does as seen on the VMAs. On his tour, he should use songs from Fan of a Fan, In my Zone 1 & 2, Boy in detention, Graffiti & FAME. He should push his Album to Christmas, New year or summer next year so that he would have time to promote this fantastic album well

All the songs thats leaked from his album are great but they’ve leaked and his competitors have heard them. So it will not make sense for a lead single. He should remember that the throne is within reach for him right now.

Yes alot of his songs were snubbed in 2009, 2010 & even 2011 giving his current level of success YET despite his blackballing, he still stand strong against , Gaga, Katie Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Nicki, Lil wayne, Kanye etc just with one leg.

By the time Chris is fully on both legs in the industry, no one will come close. If anyone is comparing him to the Gaga, Katie Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Nicki, Lil wayne who never left the scene & are public favorites, then you need to remeber that early this year man still thought his career was over.

Really? I think Open Road would make a good single choice….everyone loves it that’s why he decided to keep it. And who cares if someone thinks it’s about Rihanna. People think She Ain’t You is about her but he released it. He probably should release soemthing upbeat as the first single but Open Road is a good song. He should keep Fools With You too. Fools With You would be the better single choice if he did keep it though.

    @ KING
He is creative so he should get out of USA and go to India, Africa etc to shoot his videos while he auditions for the next “Spider Man” as he already has the physic, stamina and image of an underground super hero.

I think he should keep promoting and releasing singles off this album before releasing Fortune. Maybe release Fortune in February/March next year.

Yes! I think it’s a HORRIBLE single choice, especially for a lead. Yeah people like it, but that doesn’t mean it should get single treatment. I can see it on the album but not as a single. Usually the ballads he releases are uptempo anyway. Releasing a slow depressing ballad as a first single?! Who does that?!

‘She Ain’t You’ is a upbeat record, something you can dance to It isn’t a sappy love ballad.

He already said ‘Fools With You’ was gonna be on the album that’s why it has been blocked on Youtube and taken down on most sites.
