Despite setting sail way back in February, Janet Jackson‘s ‘Number Ones: Up, Close, & Personal Tour’ continues to blaze on.
A box-office hit, the trek’s latest stop was Los Angeles’ Greek Theater last night, where she debuted a new longer locks.
She looks great, so on and so forth, but is anyone else ready for some new music? Call us selfish, as we’ve seen this show already, but at 45 time, the body, and today’s audience wait for no one. As such, there’s only so long talk of a Janet comeback can actually have a chance of happening. I mean, her show was the business, but the one resounding critique was that it felt like an 80’s/90’s revival tour.
What’s more she is capable of hanging in the contemporary arena when she wants to (see: ‘Feedback’, ‘Rock With U’, ‘LUV’). Needless to say, calls to Darkchild, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis are imperative. Stat.
She looks EXACTLY the same… Lol o_O

People would expect to much of her in terms of sales and she more than MADE IT in her career.
80/90’s was her peak era so on tour she gotta show off that body of work that propelled her to SUPER-STARDOM.
Think she could record some new material too add her performances but not necessarily a whole album.

Was at the show last night and Janet was amazing! I agree with those that say this tour is to re-establish her brand. Anyone who saw last night’s show would agree that she DEFINITELY shows the young ones how its done…after 30 years.
As this was my third show this tour, I expected to be a little bored but NOPE…that show never gets old. And the tons of you tube videos really don’t do the performance justice.

Janet has been having to many life experiences, from death, to break ups, to weight gains and losses, new happiness in life.. this album i feel is gonna be very personal. AND SHE’ WRITTING HER OWN MUSIC AGAIN!! momma always said, “good things come to those who wait”
Janet is glowing as usual. She has great stage presence and can dance much better than all other so-called artists put together!! I would be ecstatic if Janet released a new album that gets her back to the sound of her ‘Janet’ album or even her earlier work. However, it’s great to just see her performing, especially because she truly seems more happy and at ease than ever before! She really deserves great acting roles too because she is a better actress than all the female singers who’ve crossed over into films/tv.

I really wonder what songs lie in her vault. You know she has recorded a ton of music that is unreleased! Plus I would love to see her sit down with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as the executive producers of whatever project she puts together next and really write. Sneak in those B-sides again too! I love everything she’s done, but Jam and Lewis will give it the ultimate “Janet” stamp. The remixes will be killer too! That’s when to bring in the hottest current djs and producers of today. I would also like to see Janet in some type of super hero role as well as something classic in movies while she is still vibrant enough to do it.
She needs to keep her next project in line with this tour and do an intimate release on the internet before the project drops. Speak to the people a little more directly first and then “Smash” the charts again! Remember Tina Turner’s biggest sales and tours happened after she was 43! Janet still has it and time is on her side. All the best Janet!
