New Song: Jay Sean – ‘Say Yeah (Ft Lupe Fiasco)’

Published: Sunday 4th Sep 2011 by David

In support of his upcoming ‘The Mistress’ mix tape, a new song by Cash Money Prince Jay Sean has surfaced today, an upbeat jam named ‘Say Yeah‘.

A far cry from some of his previous Pop-centric releases, the love song sees the performer pay  homage to R&B sounds of yesteryear and features the ever outspoken Lupe Fiasco.

It’s a bit frustrating that all these acts are trying to crack the pop world and go all generic but when they flop they suddenly decide to go back to r’n’b’.I bet that if his album is released sometime, it will be 90% pop…

im really im pressed this sounds like a REAL 90’s rnb cut.but its a little too late , he’s pretty much has pigeon holed his self as a pop act.

oh and Lupe Fiasco KILLED his part.

it’s not bad but it sounds like a track that didn’t make it onto one of Usher’s old albums.

HATERZ need to relax because you only know jay sean from his US act, If you listened to him from when he started 7 years ago back in the UK this was his primary type of music , this is what got him signed to cash money with a track called ride it, but america only want s***** pop bubble gum, so for him to make money he has to put pop s*** out, but he has always prefered slow rnb, soul, hiphop thats whe he called this project his passion project and put it out for free because he knows this type of music dont sell no more simple as inorder for him to make money he has to put out pop/rnb

besides i think this was s*** compared to love ft birdfman, the mistress, this lupe guy was complete s*** idk what all the hype on that n**** is.

@TIGA Personally, I’ve listened to his UK material and ‘Ride It’ is my favorite from him.His album would be 100% pop, but now that it’s got pretty much cancelled, he went back to r’n’b’.I’m not convinced and I bet that if this mixtape gives him some buzz he will go straight back to pop.And btw, in this song, Lupe was weak because he didn’t give a s**t for a mixtape track. If you want to see what the hype is about, then go listen to ‘Words I Never Said’

Lupe’s Verse. ( Not sure if correct.)
    ————————————————
    Yeah,companions,
runnin through the bombs and cannons,
flames in the rain n the danger is challenge,
down for the cause, let dont wait for the famine,
live life a lot we glad to see brandon,
which means we never don’t care, its real
from the foundation to the famine,
from the movement that made us from death seperated,
theres a king theres a queen, there are kids to the illest,
hopefully never but if ever, become sick and soak cloths together,
we can medicate to a state as fast as better,
and in the midst may be we can set a record,
get lupe on the verse and jay on the rest,
put it on and slice this version,
take it back to the back from where we started,
    Ha.

    Song was jazzy. :p

    Dear Haters and Non-believers,

I must say, the negativity still surprises me. Jay has been out there making music since he was a little boy. Even if nobody on this side of the world has heard anything before his Me Against Myself days, that album will tell you where his roots and his passion lie. The Mistress is his passion project and he’s put it out there “free” for the Jayded souljas who truly know his music and understand and appreciate it. Even if you misguidedly believe he’s falling to r’n’b, you still need to show RESPECT for the man’s song writing abilities and faultless vocals.
