Usher Talks ‘Climax’; Says “It’s Not About Sex”

R&B veteran Usher visited Atlanta’s V-103 radio show and spoke with host Ryan Cameron about the surprise meaning behind his hot new single ‘Climax’.

With an orgasmic title like ‘Climax’ most people assumed the track was indeed about sex.

Watch below as the 33-year old singer unzips his latest single’s hidden sentiment after the jump and sound-off below.

And there you have it folks. Contrary to his seductive delivery and the song’s tongue-n-cheek title, ‘Climax’ is actually about “the ultimate experience or finale of an experience of love and life.” Capitalizing on the hopeless romantic in us all, Usher has a certified hit on his hands!

I truly enjoyed this song as soon as he came in singing. First I thought it was freaky but on second listen I learned that it was talking about the peak of love and I was sold 🙂

I never thought it was about s**. In fact, the reason I fell in love witht he song is because I thought of it the exact way Usher just explained it and I totally related to it immediately. Gawd, I love him. Michael, Whitney, Beyonce and Usher: My musical royal court.

I don’t care what it’s about. All I know is that Usher is a sellout. It’s not cool for R&B acts to go pop.

Doesn’t anybody listen to lyrics anymore? This song is CLEARLY about a break up.

I LOVE this song! I thought it was kinda boring at first but after listening to it a 100 times its my favorite song now! His vocals are AMAZING! It’s just such a smooth r&b jam! This is the Usher I LOVE! This is when he is at his best! It’s crazy how he can drop one record and win me over again!

And any idiot could tell the song isn’t about s**! I’ll admit at first after reading the title I assumed it was about s** but after listening to it you could tell the song was about a relationship coming to an end! The song is pretty self explanatory! There is no mention of s** or any explicit matter in the song at all. That’s what I like most about it!

I’m really excited about his album now. This song has got me wanting more from him. I don’t mind if he has some pop on the album. That ‘revolutionary pop’ sound he was talking about has me really intrigued and I am eager to hear what he comes up with but I really hope that he stays on the r&b side because I feel that is where he shines the most. This song proves that r&b Usher trumps pop Usher!

I only wish he would let go of that damn Mohawk! Ugh! I can’t believe he hasn’t let that s*** go yet! I don’t care what people say about Tameka, when he was with her he was dressing and looking his best! She did her job as his stylist and made sure he stayed looking clean cut! Now he looks all old and scruffy! He has so lost his swag and s** appeal. SMH.

I love usher and his music *sniffs, memories of confessions*,,,i want tht usher back. Usher, Brandy, 50cent, Sean Paul, JLo and Beyonce were the greats of 2004-2005. I listened to ‘my boo’ and everything else in that album,,, i could relate to this man. After jumping in this europop band wagon, i was hurt,,, i was only left with Brandy now as S.Paul ws no longer giving me what i need, I just lost interest in Bey but i loved her vids and halo,,,,now welcome home Usher, don’t go astray again. Kiss Bieber goodbye, he is eighteen now he cn take care of himself.

@Songscribe and @SBC19 (especially) y’all sound dumb as hell. You should want your artist to EXPLORE and EXPAND their musical taste, if not they will give you the same ole retired ish, and y’all would be complaining. As long as they don’t completely leave their roots, you have nothing to worry about. It’s because of Y’ALL (as fans) that people is doing Pop. When he came out with “Daddy’s Home”, “Lil’ Freak” and “There Goes My Baby”, it didn’t do s***. Y’all wasn’t buying it and extremely recommending it on the airways. But once “OMG” came out and it hit #1 (the only pop song on the last album I might add, but not the single), he realized that’s where he should be at. That’s where the money comes in at. Let’s be honest. MONEY MATTERS. HITS MATTER. This album will be Revolutionary Pop (the genre he created.) It’s still pop with an urban twist to it.
