Just as one diva enters, another maybe looking to exit. Despite spending last summer teasing the possibilities of not returning, ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ hitmaker Jennifer Lopez still signed onto her second season aboard the judging panel of ‘American Idol’.
Now, as the May 23rd season finale approaches, the actress/singer is singing a different tune about a third season. Taking to ‘Ellen’ with ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting’ co-star Cameron Diaz, Lopez dishes on the possibility of her return to ‘Idol’…or lack thereof.
Guess not even $20 million is enough to keep the songstress seated…
‘Idol’ is undoubtedly the catalyst that reignited interest in the Latina’s once ailing career. However, that magic touch was never quite duplicated on any single beyond ‘On The Floor’ (nor it’s parent album). And, with ‘Dance Again’ not making any blockbuster moves (though hitting top 20 post her performance last week) as ratings for the show worsen with each season, J.Lo may be onto something by her pending decision to jump-ship.
Idol only got better in ratings last year because of “look new judges” excitement of last season…now that’s over and people don’t care again….Idol ratings will continue to drop because it’s normal for a 10 + year old show to have that kind of drop..JLO needs to use the catalyst of the last two years to complete her re-branding post-Idol…she’s not with Interscope, so no Iovine connection anymore…I say she leaves Idol…

More like Idol is leaving her. She has shown the world what talent she doesn’t have, even in her selection of winners, since no one has heard or will hear from them, after being selected. Auto-tune and rappers covering your non-singing doesn’t last a lifetime! Although folk have thrown lots of marketing dollars behind her, she can’t sell anything but perfume, if one wants to smell like a woman who has had more men than I have probably talked to.

People on these post are juvenile. She is a great entertainer, so despite of what some of you think there are plenty people who like her. I hope to see her again, she is indeed a great presence on the show. As for her personal life, I don’t care about that, its her life. If she’s happy then that’s what’s up.
