Rihanna continued her European vacation yesterday, snapped partying with friends on the French Riviera.
With a bottle of beer in hand, the world renown belter appeared to be her usual state of not doing much, soaking up the sun as her label craft her seventh studio album, due for release next year.

For, if the comparisons between the three are intense now, one can only imagine how things will fare once the release windows for all three albums have swung by, leaving fans to scrutinize and compare their respective units.

She needs this break as she is an avid hard-worker with the work ethic only found in Chinese sweatshops. She works long hours, and is always there to deliver for her fans. She is the biggest artists of the 21st century and the most successful black female artist ever to grace the universe and she is still growing, more is here to come. 50-60-100 years from now, people are still going to remember Rihanna as the pop phenomenon who changed the music world forever. She doesn’t have to brag about being a “diva” or marry an illiterate ex-drug dealer, she doesn’t have to buy herself awards or steal dance moves from starving South African dancers who are still living in the townships because they have not received their royalty cheques. Rihanna just has to be Rihanna and the works for her and everyone. Have fun Riri and I am looking forward to that 7th album that will slay.

Rihanna Gets Sued For Swagger Jacking David LaChapelle In ‘S&M’ Video

The bad girl is perfectly good at stirring up trouble, but famed photographer David LaChapelle isn’t letting her get away with jacking his steez. Rihanna’s raunchy visual for hit “S&M” has been banned in 11 countries and is being accused of having too many similarities to images that have appeared in publications such as Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair.
PopEater reports LaChapelle’s claim that “the music video is directly derived from and substantially similar to the LaChapelle works,” and has copied the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting” of his popular work. Even a scene where Rih walks a leashed Perez Hilton was allegedly ripped from an original idea by LaChapelle.
The Bajan princess’ camp is still mum on the issue, but we’ll be watching as the suit unfolds.

Fefe Dobson‘s fans have been saying it for a while now. The Rihanna we know as the “Good Girl Gone Bad” is actually what Fefe Dobson was supposed to be, had her label Def Jam (also Rihanna’s label) focused their attention on her instead of turning Rihanna into a punk rocker with a hint of pop and R&B. And now, Fefe herself is speaking out via an exclusive interview with Honey Magazine. And surprisingly she’s not even mad. She actually takes it as a compliment…
HoneyMag: You were already on Def Jam when Rihanna signed, right?
Fefe: I was first I was signed to Def Jam in 2003. I think she was signed in 2005
HoneyMag: First of all, what happened when you left the label?
Fefe: It was just musical difference. It was a mutual breakup. Things weren’t working out the way we had wanted and it was time to part ways and let me create some things. Is Rihanna rock and roll? I don’t know. I mean I think that term is used really loosely.
HoneyMag: Basically, her career did not affect yours whatsoever?
Fefe: I wasn’t associated with it anymore, but do I get comparison… all over the place. To me, again, we are different. It’s like Avril-syndrome. You ask me now, and yes, we are both black but it’s not the same music. She might have some guitars on her thing but what is that? It doesn’t make it the same music.
HoneyMag: That’s my point. The image thing — to go so extreme, from dancehall reggae queen girl to cool, punky, rocker-chick. People say Rihanna bit your style.
Fefe: I mean, for sure I question that, but who wouldn’t. She is supposedly a fan of mine. I try to take it as a compliment. It gets a little much when she starts getting the same tattoos as me but overall I just want people to separate the image and listen to the music. It’s about the music. Its like Prince and Michael Jackson, totally different artists. Or its like Kanye West and Jay-Z. So what? They are both black men, they sound different. So they both wear jeans, they are different. And why would you want the same type of artist?
HoneyMag: People are definitely do an image comparison.
Fefe: To me, dressing is like an expression. You don’t have to be crazy or whatever. Just wear whatever you want to wear.
HoneyMag: I think you can tell when it’s contrived and when it’s authentic.
Fefe: I agree. I do have to say one thing though, her songs are well written. I know Ne-Yo writes some stuff and he is an amazing writer but we’re just different.
HoneyMag: Have you guys met?
Fefe: Yeah, I met her when she was the dance hall queen with the long hair. She was a nice girl but very quiet.

You don’t have as much control over your image as you want and your label and stylist tell you what to do, and why not? It can only help record sales.
If you don’t think so remember Pink? She said she was railroaded into singing R&B pop because of her soulful delivery and that she always wanted to sing Rock from the jump. So while her original sound was one aspect of her talent, she didn’t stick with that style of music or look for long.
SO do you think this hurts an artist’s reputation? Or do you think that once you’re so big that no one cares whose music or style you appropriate? I think that at a certain level, you’re no longer an artist, just an entertainer and no one will care at all. Plagiarism isn’t new at all.
An up and coming singer named Eva Simons–we’ve never heard of her but others apparently have– posted some photoshoot pics several months ago on her myspace page. Our reader noticed the striking similarities between those pics and Rihanna’s new promo pic and sent us a Swagger Jacker Alert.
The internet was abuzz months ago when out the blue someone likened Rihanna’s style to little known (at least in America) Canadian punk-pop singer Fefe Dobson. All of a sudden videos, blogs, and pictorials sprang up about the uncanny resemblance of Fefe’s current and past style, with Rihanna’s newer edgier look.
I’ve seen the pictures, and the videos and my verdict was that Rihanna or her stylist did indeed swaggerjack Fefe’s style. If you do a Google search, you’ll see more than enough evidence, even if you have to sift through the crap.
The recent video premiere of Rihanna’s latest single “Rude Boy” has caused a little stir in the world of Beyonce’s little sister, Solange. Solange, best known for being the baby sister of quite arguably the biggest female superstar today, is questioning the creativity of Rihanna in her latest video – going as far to saying the entire style was copied from her own past video.

Now…I remember many not having a problem with her during her debut, but this all changed during AGLM. I think its pretty clear that her management wanted to market her as “the next Beyonce” as far as image was concerned. There were also rumors that she and Jay were messing around.
As these rumors became stronger, alot of Bey stans became dissapointed in Rihanna because they felt as if she was using Bey’s name to propel her career. Some of the tracks on B’Day didn’t help a damn thing.
Then there was GGGB where she had a complete overhaul as far as her image and music was concerned. But the comparisons began to change. People starting comparing their commercial success and some insisted that she had taken Bey’s spot. I guess this made her stans even more angry.
In 2008, IASF happened and shut all their asses up.
Then there was Rated R that followed the “incident.” Alot of Bey stans felt that she tried to use the incident to draw more interest and profit..blah blah blah..

Multi-platinum selling recording artist and Roc Nation’s rebel, Rihanna has released a statement regarding her new endeavor into the fashion world. According to B*****.com, Rihanna will be teaming up with London based brand,River Island.
Excited about her collaboration with the company here’s what Rihanna statement said, “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time.
River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”
The company will recently be celebrating its longevity in the business as it enters its 64th year. River Island has over 300 stores in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Russia, Holland, Poland, Belgium, Middle East and Far East and offers worldwide shipping through its website. Fans can expect Rihanna’s collection to hit stores spring 2013.
