Marking the first time she has performed at the ceremony since 2010, the singer’s set at the show will precede the birth of a 2013 world tour, and her seventh studio album.

The fact is Rihanna needs to jump on the trend to sell, Beyoncé sells her brand. If Rihanna had released a full R&B album, her album would’ve struggled to sell 1 million in the entire world. Beyoncé could’ve easily scored many #1 hits if she had jumped on the bandwagon like everyone else did, but she didn’t want it, because she’s a real artist and she’s focused on the music not on fast-food hits.

Honestly it’s just a fake a$$ MTV Music Video Award. They did away with the R&B music video category a few years back so they could go back to their typical ways. Remember Michael Jackson was the 1st NON-WHITE artists that was every played on MTV. He I believe was also the 1st to win a funky little MTV award! They initially refused to play Billie Jean (one of the best videos ever made). Now with the exclusion of a R&B category, they are reverting back to their old tricks! Black artists should boycott but I guess when you have a 360 degree “s****-type” contract you can’t do anything but bend over and grab both ankles! Oh well…..

VMA is just about popularity these days. Taylor Swift was the first country singer to perform and win an award in VMA’s history! Historically speaking, they never cared about country acts. She was only invited to perform because ‘Fearless’ was huge, and they hoped that she’d bring them ratings.
The same thing happened to Adele last year.
It’s pathetic what they did with R&B category. I mean, they have this irrelevant “Best Video with a Message” award. Urgh! They even have “Best Electronic/Dance” award. This prove that they’re opportunist. They never cared about dance music before, this is the first time they’ll give an award of this kind in 30 years of show!!!
