New Video: Usher – ‘Numb’

Published: Thursday 11th Oct 2012 by Sam

Having landed a new gig on The Voice, Usher extends his ‘Looking 4 Myself’ campaign with the video for the LP’s fifth single ‘Numb’.

As one of the LP’s Pop’ier numbers, it’s clear the crooner playing his chart card hard with this, as thus far ‘Looking’ has generated more successful Pop singles than it has its Urban releases.

Can the ‘Numb’ video help massage interest in the album, which has to date sold 380k in the US thus far? The answer awaits after the jump…

No.

wasn’t LOOKING 4 MYSELF #1 in the us? and yet, it’s sold ONLY 380k so far. #justsayin what’s the point of being #1 in the us if you can’t even go GOLD in your home country?

Billboard Adult Contemporary chart is where the “real” hits are.The Billboard Hot 100 Hits sadly have NO strength to push album sales anymore (except in taylor swift and adele’s case).I love Usher (the one that sang Slow Jam with Monica),but I can never support music I can’t relate with/to.Sorry but my “excellent” taste in music just won’t allow me settle for anything less, that’s why at only 23,i would rather listen to likes of MJ,Prince,Aretha,Mary J,Mariah,Madonna,Queen,Tina,Whitney etc than anything on the Hot 100 right now.

Yeeeeeeesssssssss!!! We hear you. Last decade has been mediocre compared to what it used to be (mainstream music I mean)

Usher is the biggest F****** hypocritical egotistical sell out! His album sucks because he lost almost his entire fanbase when he went pop.

And yet he doesn’t seem to care.

If he doesn’t care that his album has only sold 380K, then he’s a fool. I’d be very alarmed over those numbers if I were him.

Nothing wrong w/ this vid. Decent budget, nice vid that fits the song. And the man can still move. Go, Usher !

I think the video is good and Usher is hot. But this music… it´s hard to find something really good nowadays

This song will probably do well on the charts but will I be playing it in a year or two from now I don’t think so. To be honest I’m not even expecting another Confessions album but can we at least get an 8701 or maybe My Way. I say he needs to continue on his journey to finding himself and maybe do a pit stop at Jermaine Dupri’s house.

Ne-yo better take note cause this is what can happen when you abandon your core audience, they leave you. I miss the urban Usher. I dont know who this guy is. He had the right album title “Looking for Myself”. Im looking for you too Ursh. :::Smh as I listen to 8701:::

I like the video…and that it’s more than just a dance sequence. Most videos these days don’t have meaning. Coulda left out that meltdown he had in Berlin though.

  13. JER October 12, 2012

I am NOT here for Miss Ursha’s pop singles. I still can’t at him saying he WASN’T going to do dance music, he was going to do “Revolutionary R&B” and we all called it that he’d go pop.

Don’t feel the song but I like the visuals!! I don’t understand User’s selling slump? He is a “MEDIA DARLING”. No matter what he get’s favorable media attention. The media loves Justin Babble and he brought him onto the world stage… so what’s the problem?? ¯\_(*_*)_/¯

I’m not an Usher fan but to all of you b*tchin and moaning about him switching up his style (and I count myself among you…LOL 🙂 ) we need only refer to the article post yesterday about the new scheme Billboard is cooking up for the R&B chart to see why he has been so “drastic” with his sound! ijs

I don’t know…this is one of those video’s that I feel could’ve been really great but just fell flat. I felt like it was all over the place, from the concert intro to the scenes in the hospital to the glass box dancing, and it could’ve done with a little more focus. It was well-budgeted and his dancing is still on point, but the direction and production were just off for me.

why did yall ugly broads let azealias album flop…

  18. MISHKA October 12, 2012

A deep message, great vocals and strong visuals. Me likey!

And y’all know nobody rocks the solo scenes with broken mirrors in all black outfits like Usher. Keep your signature, boo !!!!
