Bruno Mars Dominates Billboard Hot 100 / Enjoys 135 Million Radio Impressions

Published: Wednesday 19th Dec 2012 by David

For today’s Pop addict, talented male contributors who truly bring in the numbers have become a little too difficult too find, since Justin Timberlake‘s departure from the scene some five years ago.

However, flying the flag for the male mega seller this week comes Bruno Mars, storming the Billboard 200 with his sophomore album ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’. Arriving at #2, the album’s arrival wasn’t the only piece of good news the ‘Marry You‘ mastermind welcomed this week.

Not sure what we’re on about?

Chart check below…

Spending its second week at #1 is his latest single ‘Locked Out Of Heaven’, the single makes Mars one of 9 male divos to spend at least two weeks atop the chart with their first four releases, securing his 9th week atop the tally since his debut.

As if that wasn’t enough, the single comes soared on  Billboard’s On-Demand Songs chart with a mind blowing 1.39 million streams counted in the last week, sure to have helped it shift a sweet 220,000 downloads in the same space of time.

Not impressed? Well, in what gives the singer no choice but to bring home the commercial bacon, this week also saw him enjoy radio audience impressions  of 135 million, nabbing the #2 spot on the Hot  100 Airplay chart.

    Always winning!!!

  2. COCKINESS December 19, 2012

    its funny how winning is coming in at #2, say samantha how bout a post on who’s number one in airplay?

    • TinaMinaj December 19, 2012

      That’s the problem with the navy. You want Rihanna to be a mega-star (claim she is already) yet you cling to these PETTY achievements. This is something worth noting for Bruno Mars seeing this is his second album, Rihanna or the navy at this stage shouldn’t be pressed for a mention on being no.1 on an airplay chart! Come on now!

    WHATEVER…

    I can’t believe that since 2007 – no song has surpassed 200 Million Audience Impressions. The last song to do that was Beyonce’s “Irreplacable” and the last song to surpass 150 Million Audience Impressions was Rihannas “Whats My Name” with 175 Million.

    And hmmm… I find it funy how over 100 Million can listen to one song but not buy the album…

    Unless, your Adele of course.

    Yeah your s** takes me to paradise
    And it shows, yeah, yeah, yeah

    I Come!!!!!!

    This goes to show you that the pop rhythmic sector will buy/request the heck out of your music, but will not purchase your album. Untalented f**** like Taylor swift, one direction and Justin bieber are obviously winning!!! 🙁

    I want to f*** Bruno Mars.

    Thatgrapejuice leave my HUSBAND alone, Justin is better than Usher, Chris Brown, Bruno and the rest.

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        I refuse, he is better than all of them.

      • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ December 19, 2012

        SHHHHHH Peace…….shhhhhh…….I refuse.

        In my eyes:
        Artistry: Bruno > Justin = Usher
        Singer: Usher = Bruno > Justin
        Dancing: Usher = Justin >>>>> Bruno
        Acting: Justin
        Empire: Justin > Usher > Bruno
        Looks: Usher = Justin > Bruno
        Personality: Justin > Bruno >>>> Usher
        Discorography: Usher (“My way”, “8701”, “Confessions”) = Justin (both albums) > Bruno (“Doo wop and hooligans” + “Unorthodox Jukebox)

        I love them all though.
        Justin got punished for only putting 2 albums out. 😛

        I could understand the rest but “Singer: Justin” now that is a blatant stretch girl. Usher’s and Bruno’s voices >>>>>>>>> JT. I love him but they are a far grater vocalists than him.

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        @ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ
        It’s not about who is the better vocalist, it’s about who you like the most and sometimes i can’t stand Usher’s voice, not all voices are pleasing to your ears, not even if you have Celine Dion voice.

      • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ December 19, 2012

        I agree that not all voices are tolerable (see Aretha Franklin, etc) but the FACT still remains that Usher and Bruno have better voices, now who you PREFER is totally up to you. I like all there voices, but Usher’s falsetto is just flawless.

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        @ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ
        Why do you think that i think Madonna is the best voice that i heard?, it is because not all voices are tolerable, i even love those cute little things she make with her voice, man voice, hoarse voice, uff, it drives me crazy.

      • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ December 19, 2012

        Wait? You actually think her voice is the best you’ve ever heard? REALLY? that’s really weird. When I listen to Madonna, I only listen to her lyrics, arrangements, meanings, and visuals NEVER for her voice. I only pay attention to voice if it has unique quality.

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        But only because i prefer her voice and i lover her and i think ver voice is very versatil, not because i think she has the best voice in the world, honestly the most beautiful voice i’ver heard is not Barbra, Whitney, Celine or Mariah but the voice of Karen Carpenter, no one touch her for me.

      • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ December 19, 2012

        LOL. Okay, its your preference, it just so happens that you enjoy their voices more and there is nothing wrong with that.

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        @ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ
        Exactly honey, we understand each other.

    • Lisa December 19, 2012

      That statement wasn’t an insult to Justin Timberlake. Comprehension much? They’re saying there hasn’t been much “real” male talent in Pop SINCE Timberlake went on a music hiatus. In other words, no one filled the gap left by Justin until Mars came along and brought talent back to an auto-tuned, EDM filled genre. Get it now?

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        @Lisa
        No i can’t.

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        @ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ
        I don’t care, Justin is more cute and s***.

      • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ December 19, 2012

        They are equal in my eyes.

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        @ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ
        In my eyes all my husbands are equal too.

      • S****** Blonde December 19, 2012

        Justin is better.

    Big thumbs up to Bruno Mars. He has been EXTREMELY underrated! Maybe people will start to appreciate his artistry more…

    • Absolved December 19, 2012

      How the hell is he “underrated?” Everything he does becomes a hit. He’s almost like the male equivalent to Adele in terms of easy breezy commercial acceptance.

      • lostone December 19, 2012

        i co-sign 100%
