I’m a music reviewer since 6 years ago and work for Bill Lamb, Miel Magazine, top 40 and a mainstream radio station at Latam, and yes, 4 is better than Unapologetic, even when Rihanna’s album is more radio appealing and play friendly, musically it’s just a bunch of famous producers doing the basic formula, Sia is the new black horse onto single’s structuration and did really well with Diamonds, even if weak, works miraculously and so the other indie artsts collabs, yet Beyonce’s album even when not so catchy choruses is musically and visually way too superior.

Dope cover, very different from the original. Like the rythm the flow and ascending vocals. This is not her best cover though.
Here is a list of my favourite Beyonce cover versions
1. Billy Joel-Honesty cover. This was an amazing job, one can be critical because I think Billy Joel is a god but it was well-sung and there were no unnecessary vocal gymnastics, she just sang it and she sang it so well it made the cut to be on her 3rd album (I think, not sure).
2. Micheal Jackson “I can’t help it” cover from I am Tour in Philladelphia I think. You can tell through this fan made video that she was genuinely influenced by Michael Jackson its not a publicity points getting thing. If you are a Michael Jackson fan, go to youtube and watch this video you’ll appreciate it, especially if you loved “Off the Wall”. In fact, its got 3 000 000 views even though its fan made and awful quality.
****3.The beautiful ones by prince at the Wynn hotel in Las Vagas mashed with “that’s why you’re beautiful” (this is my favourite)****. I don’t have any words to describe this performance apart from saying its better than it sounds. Its a pity I didn’t make it onto the final DVD edition largely due to Prince’s PARANOA with ownership. Commerce interfeared with music. PLEASE I beg everyone who loves music to take some time and watch this very low quality fan-made video and just enjoy because its just musical genius.
4. All of the Etta James covers were sick, especially “trust in me”. “At last”, “I’d rather go blind”, “all I could do was cry” were vocal molasses, delicious to the ear and satisfying in her tone, I dare say her rendition of “trust in me” was better than Etta’s! Amazingly versetile voice.
5. Anita Bakers “sweet love”. I’m an avid Anita Baker fan and I have to say this girl really did do this cover well especially the “soo surreal” key changes! But sorry beyonce (smiley face) Anita is the greatest singer for me, and I don’t care what anyone says or does Anita Baker is the songstress to my life, bar Sade of cause.
6.I’m torn between her duets with Stevie Wonder and Luther Vandross (both of which won grammys), but the “Closer I get to you” cover is pretty amazing considering the fact that I have never honestly liked the song much.
7.Her vocally delicious live cover of Jill Scott’s “He loves me” on The Beyonce Experience DVD.****one of my favourites again
8.Learn to be lonely @ the Oscars from Sir Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera” (who by the way was on piano that night). Great job at a song that isn’t particularly easy to sing.
9. Barbra Streisand’s “the way we were” at the Kennedy Honours. (Please make sure you listen to this).
10. The jazzy scat galore deja vu live version that was filled with Ella Fitzgerald cuts including (if it aint got that swing).
I’m not a pop fan, but its hard for me to see how rihanna compares to beyonce in talent. When it comes to vocal and live performance (which is what’s important), rihanna is the conversation Beyonce is the entire press conference.

I think I still prefer the original but I like this take on Amy’s version. I still not sure about Andre but Beyonce told a good story with her vocals and it is a modern and avant-garde take on ‘Black’. I am quite excited about The Great Gatsby soundtrack.

Why not? France is among the biggest music markets in the world and it is always interesting to know about artists record sales. You did the same with RIAA list which shows domestic sales of some artists but it is nice to see if they are huge on international scale and if their music is global.
