It’s a good album but is not Born to Die or Paradise 🙂

    • dustin September 23, 2013

maybe not quite as dynamic as born to die, but def not the snoozefest that was paradise.

anyway, can we have a discussion about lorde without mentioning lana del taco? i like lana but even though they kind of occupy the same lane in the pop music sphere, their music is actually not very similar at all. lana is much more of a crooner with delayed strings and grandiose arrangements. lordes music is much more in line with what portishead and mazzy star were doing in the 90s.

so far i’m thoroughly this album.

      • S****** Blonde September 23, 2013

You don’t like Lana, Lana’s music is ten times better, the quality is insane, and i think what you said, what’s an insult to Portished and Mazzy Star……

      • dustin September 23, 2013

actually i like lana. i’ve met her and shes one of the nicest big name celebs i’ve met. also, i own her albums. don’t presume to know what i like. my point was that comparing them is like comparing an apple to an orange.

the truth is that you don’t like lorde. as a lana fan are you threatened by lordes huge success? you must be because if you were in fact certain that lana slays lorde, you wouldn’t need to come onto every lorde post and talk mad s***.

      • S****** Blonde September 23, 2013

Me mad, oh you don’t know me at all, every Lorde post, how many post of her are there in here?, behave bro, nobody is using bad words, ciao, ciao…..

      • dustin September 23, 2013

not sure i need someone on tgj checking my behavior and language, but thanks anyway.

That fact that she is 16 and has such a clear artistic vision is very impressive.

I’ll definitely continue to watch as she develops.

    Lana and Gaga who?

  6. JOHNVIDAL September 23, 2013

I´ll keep an eye on her. So young but with something in her. Seems like a real artist. I´m just starting to listen to the album.
You guys are unbelievable btw. Why do you have to compare this girl to Lana now? Or talk about Gaga on every Lana post and viceversa for example? A mess. Let talented girls have their shine. You can talk s*** about the puppets and talentless ones.

  7. Rosie September 23, 2013

Good god, they are really trying to make this girl happen. Too bad they couldn’t bring all that buzz outside of a few English speaking countries.
Not to mention her hair looks like it hasn’t been washed in WEEKS.

  8. NO September 23, 2013

Lana is waaay better. Lana’s music brings out the deepest.

    • NO September 23, 2013

      Deepest of emotions*

  9. B**** I Can’t Even Spell Welfare September 23, 2013

I agree with @JOHNVIDAL. Why are people comparing Lana and Gaga To Lorde? Because she stated an opinion about Lana’s lyrics? So what. She also said she liked her album too.

Personally, I think Lorde, Lana, and Gaga are GREAT for pop music.

Everywhere I see Lorde’s name all I see is freshly squeezed Llama del Taco stans PRESSED to a fine pulp. Yal are SEETHING that it took 2 years for your flop fave to get a hit from a REMIX… meanwhile Lorde’s first single is perched in the Top 3 slaying effortlessly with no promotion, no gimmicks, no remixes #POW
