Next Monday brings with it the full premiere and iTunes release of Lady GaGa‘s latest ‘ARTPOP’ promo cut ‘Venus’. Hence, after warming fans up with one teaser of the track yesterday, the tour de force titilates with a fresh snippet of the DJ White Shadow number.

Still intrigued that this was on the cusp of being a single. Heck, it was the single until ‘Do What U Want’ demanded its place. Echoing earlier sentiments, it sounds like all sorts of a risk – which, as history has taught us, can go one way (↑) or the other (↓).
Needless to say, as no longer a traditional release, we’ll be watching closely to see how this impacts the buzz for its parent album which arrives on November 11th.

LADY GAGA IS A CHART MANIPULATOR.
Is everyone aware that iTunes album pre-orders affect singles positions? Everytime someone pre-ordered Artpop -Applause was credited with a single’s sale. Same for Do What U Want, and next week with Venus, and after that the next promo single.
Once the album is released, all of the singles “sales” will be deducted and instantly become album purchases through the complete-my-album feature. What this means is that Applause has been BUOYED all along by the pre-sales of the album. This is also why Do What U Want appeared to have strong sales from the start, but in reality, those were just the automatic downloads for people who had pre-ordered the album. In other words, next to nobody actually purchased the song as a single.
Watch and see when Venus blasts off on iTunes exactly the same as Do What U Want did, even without a single person buying it. And, the following promo single, rumored to be Dope, is also guaranteed to make a big splash on iTunes. It’s already “in the bag”. Afterwards, she will act all surprised by the “overwhelming” response to the tracks, even though it has absolutely NOTHING to do with actual single’s purchases…
Now, Gaga isn’t the only one who gets to take advantage of the ridiculous policy. Katy Perry’s album pre-sales also enhanced Roar and her two promo singles. The difference, of course, is that Roar would’ve been a huge hit even without the assist, whereas Applause has literally been kept afloat by the iTunes albums pre-sales. and would have vanished from the top a long, long time ago without them.

That’s not great especially for someone that has explained her music would be more darker and mature when it still sound like the same tired fluff from TD. Prism sounds like TD B sides. As for Gaga, I do like this snippet better than the first one and I see potential with his album like I did for Aura, s** dreams, manicure, and DWUW. Gaga’s vocals on this album r much better than her last ones. Most of all can’t wait to see how her tours turn out when she performs this live. It will slay.
