Indeed, it’s been two years since Queen of Pop Madonna took her first jab at pop princess Lady Gaga – labeling the young Grammy winner’s 2011 hit ‘Born This Way’ as “reductive” for its similarity to her 1989 hit ‘Express Yourself’.
What came after were months and months of Madonna doing just that – expressing herself via interviews and a highly publicized “Born This Way/Express Yourself” mashup performed live on her blockbuster ‘M.D.N.A.‘ world tour that courted much attention from her fans and Little Monsters alike.
Unlike Madge, Gaga has kept fairly mum on the topic since its beginnings, but now the ‘Poker Face’ performer is dealing a new hand to reheat a battle some thought had cooled. Her newest statements below:

“All it meant to me was that Madonna Ciccone was singing my song on her stage and I’m 27,” she added. “And as a punk-rocker from New York, I’ve basically been hoping that I would become so good that one day I would piss off Madonna!”
“I have to be really honest, I was completely kind of floored that Madonna was singing my song on her stage every night!” she said (via GagaDaily). “I mean, Madonna’s … she’s Madonna. I looked up to her for a long time. I’m not quite sure what her intention was — to do that in the show, but I don’t really care.”
“I think playing into the gossip of the tabloids and, I guess the fodder of the competition, that’s just not what I’m about,” Gaga said. “She chooses to use her voice the way she chooses to use hers and I choose to use mine the way I use mine.”

LMAO bye. EDM/electropop has been over with the GP since fall 2012 unless the song itself got actual critical acclaim/payola/is actually by a EDM artist (See: pretty much all the EDM songs released by a pop girl flopping except for the Summertime Sadness remix).
Wake Me Up, the only EDM song currently in the top 10 other than Awfulause, doesn’t even have a dance beat for most of the song, it’s pretty much upbeat country until the breakdown.
