‘Chart Juice’: Shakira & Rihanna ‘Roc’ UK Top Ten With ‘Can’t Remember To Forget You’

Individually, they’re more than capable of pushing hits big enough to give their creatives cause to rejoice and the competitors cause to recline.

Together, they just may have launched one of the year’s fastest rising smashes, doing so before they grace the year with brand spanking new studio albums.

Who we’re talking about?

Shakira and Rihanna of course, the ‘Roc Nation’ riots who kicked down iTunes UK’s door this morning, looted its Top Ten and have now made away with #6 spot today.

Pour yourself a freshly made jug of ‘Chart Juice‘ below…

Though lacking the ‘flavour‘ a lead Shakira single should always be able to boast of, ‘Remember’ rockets to #6 as British music lovers rush to iTunes to purchase their copy of the release, marking her first since signing with Jay Brown‘s Roc Nation.

Perched at #8 on iTunes USA, the Rihanna– assisted piece precedes the March 25th arrival of her latest studio album, set for take off four years after the unveiling of her ‘Loca‘-led ‘Sale el Sol.’

Since the beginning i thought this combo wouldn’t fit together but somehow i still hoped the song would be good but it’s terrible, Shakira sounds worse than ever, Rihanna is always the one who owns the song, her part is the best, her voice is simply catchy as hell, it might do well on the charts but only thanks to Queen Rihanna, she only gets better, her discography is one of the best in Pop Music and she’s only 25.

And now prints, pictures & white outlines
Are all that’s left at the scene of a crime
    Of a cold case love

    Rihanna >>

  4. FutureCIARA January 15, 2014

    So I agree with @S******

Shakiras voice doomed this song, I can only hear her voice soo many times, However I like her speaking voice like when shes judging on The Voice.

And screw the iTunes charts right now, how is this doing on Billboard??????

  5. Vee January 15, 2014

Terrible song. Where is it on US itunes?

  6. sleazy January 15, 2014

I wish rihanna wasnt on this she was not needed put her next to her fellow female artist she falls flat rihanna fails to deliver live

  7. Katy Perry Aka Legend K January 15, 2014

Terrible song… Terrible artists I rest my case…
Dark Horse with less promo and publicity is no 1. She didn’t need rihanna for a number #1. Katy is the King Of Pop

I’m losing interest rihanna you’re boring me

  8. Mrs. Stephy Tha Blondie January 15, 2014

Im already over this song tbh… Its way to early in the year for a song like this. This sounds like a summer song.

Rihanna does not have the best pop music…

    Bye S******!

  9. RoyalKev January 15, 2014

This collab is just the absolute worst! Rihanna sounds much better than Shakira (vocally) on the track, but after revisiting those old performances by Shakira, you’re reminded of how dynamic she is on stage! Rihanna may not be able to keep up. I think they should just quickly move to a 2nd single once this one fades. I hope Shakira finds success with this project!

    @KATY PERRY AKA LEGEND K

you sound dumb ad hell… Dark Horse was released since September as a promo single so don’t act like it hasn’t been getting promoted… live performances ain’t the only promo… you basis need a damn clue…

ON the other hand this song should pick up since its very radio friendly and DJ’s already have it on heavy rotation

@S****** you hit the nail right on the head… Rihanna totally owned this song as if it was her own… Shakira fell a bit flat for me

  12. Mrs. Stephy Tha Blondie January 15, 2014

There is only one Queen Of Pop & thats MADONNA!!

  13. beyonce mumbai January 15, 2014

  15. Brazilian Yoncé!!! January 15, 2014

I haven’t heard it on radio here!! They usually promote Shakira’s stuff to the fullest here… She needs a video asap the song is fading

  16. Bey Fan January 15, 2014

Not a fan of the song… but congrats.

  17. mekaela January 15, 2014

  18. Navy Commander January 15, 2014

  20. Navy Commander January 15, 2014

  21. Navy Commander January 15, 2014

Sis you called Katy “legend k”, your opinion is invalid.

  22. Lovebird January 15, 2014

Congrats to both, hope it flies to #1.

  23. JOHNVIDAL January 15, 2014

    @s******
Seriously what are you smoking lately hun??? Shakira is 10 times the artist Rihanna is. Rihanna the best catalogue out there? how is she getting better when she does nothing? ok bye.

Also yes the song is mediocre, they don´t match, we all knew it would happen. Just a political move. But I can´t believe the people saying Rihanna stole the show? What? You may not like Shakira´s voice but she can sing, Rihanna barely sang on that song. Enough is enough. The acceptance of mediocrity is too much now.

  24. Kim (Beyonce/Rihanna fan) January 15, 2014

OMG Blondie, I used to read your comments everyday, i never commented, i was kind of shy, i’m so happy you’re here again, i want to talk with you, i know it’s crazy but i feel like you are an intelligent and beautiful man, i just have this feeling, don’t be afraid of me, a simple response would make my day, thanks.

  25. MC!!! January 15, 2014

i like the song i dont think its horrible its just a regular pop song itll be successful regardless its an easy radio hit

  26. king_music January 15, 2014

Rihanna lately has been growing on me but im still a
    die hard Beyonce Stan.
This song sucks it has no real meaning Rihanna kills it
she sounds really good but she wont be able to save the song it will be a decent hit tho hopefully.
and shakira after she wolf i was done with her she needs
to just stop theres nothing special about her anymore .
    sorry still love her

  27. Tyler January 15, 2014

    Good for them!

  28. MusicStan( Ya’ll know who I stan for) January 15, 2014

ya’ll can’t dislike all you want but I don’t really think this was a great look for both of them… I like some of RIh’s music (the ones with meaning vs the overtop poppy tunes) and never was a fan of sharika (I can’t stomach the yodeling she does) I’m mean congrats for it charting in the United Kingdom, but IDK if the United STATES is going to feel this we are kinda over the over the top poppy tunes and we want real talent and more underrated artists to shine now… so hopefully if their fans vote maybe just maybe it may get a spot on the charts… but the lyric content tbh is forgettable and it is all over the place!!!! But this MY OPINION WELP BACK TO LISTENING TO JHENE AIKO

  29. ROSEGOLD January 15, 2014

Yes MusicStan the song left me disappointed after all of the hype. I just don’t see it being that successful. I forgot about it as soon as I finished listening.

  30. MusicStan( Ya’ll know who I stan for) January 15, 2014

@RoseGold Heyyy!!!! and yeah the song is very forgettable….. no diss just truth!!!!!!

  31. PRINCE MACHIAVEL January 15, 2014

@JOHNVIDAL, You Know I Always Value Your Opinion Cause You Keep It Real! But This Time I Have To Agree With @SB, This Song Is Waaay Toooo Awful And Only Rihanna’s Part Make It A Bit Likeable!

  32. Mark111 January 16, 2014

The girls hasn’t had a hit since Hips Don’t Lie. Beautiful Liar was only made to market Beyonce to the Latin audiences (hint B-Day songs in Spanish). After that no one in the States heard from Shakira, so to market her to the US and international market, you throw on the biggest international artist on the song, Rihanna.

Rihanna make hits, end of the story. Even on the song she owns it, her voice is one of a kind. The last two Eminem #1 hits both feat Rihanna, T.I las #1 hit feat Rihanna, so SHE gave made them songs hits, cause both rappers worked with Pink and where are those songs? I don’t know neither.
