Jennifer Lopez may be in full promo swing for her tenth studio album ‘A.K.A.’, but on tonight’s ‘American Idol’ finale, the ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ performer opted to show some other artists’ tunes some luh as well.
First taking the stage to perform her newest single ‘First Love’, she was later joined by fellow judges Keith Urban and Randy Jackson, Lopez led an old school medley that featured covers of Cyndi Lauper‘s ‘True Colors’ and Fleetwood Mac‘s ‘Go Your Own Way’.

I agree, Whitney was a beast live! Hands down she’s the best vocalists that ever lived. Her performance level live was unmatched. She sung with such clarity (perfect diction) and had such a powerful chest voice, but she wasn’t a screamer (like Patti — who’s just as vocally strong. No offense). Whitney’s skill (when it came to stretching notes) was so brilliant. What I actually admired most about her was that she had total control over her voice. It wasn’t just full at the end of a song during the climax, she always gave a full, rich vocal throughout a performance in her prime. It wasn’t frail or underwhelming in parts. There are a lot of great vocalists that came after her (Toni, Brandy, Bey, MC and Celine — in their prime), but I agree that Whitney takes the cake!
