In 2020, R&B icons Brandy and Monica put those pesky rumors of rivalry to rest with a record-setting ‘VERZUZ’ that saw them showcase their respective greatest hits as well as come together for a rare performance of their history-making 1998 duet ‘The Boy is Mine.’
The unity displayed only increased calls for the GRAMMY winners to embark on a joint North American tour – a jaunt that was reportedly in the works at one time but was ultimately canned due to the global health crisis at the time.
And while years removed from the ‘VERZUZ,’ some fans – including Brandy’s own brother Ray J – are still holding out hope the ladies will align their schedules for a co-headlining trek across the continent.
As captured by our friends at TNT (seen above), Monica took to Instagram live a few days ago to chat it up with her fans and Nicki Minaj fans (affectionately called #Barbz) who have been showing her major love on the ‘Pink Friday 2 Tour.’
Ray hopped on to suggest that once she’s done with the Minaj venture that she team with his iconic sister for another jaunt.
“Brandy/Monica Tour – please let’s make history,” he said in the live’s comment section. “One run for the fans – 100M plus for both of you.”
While B-Rocka nor Mo have directly responded to his suggestion (at the time of this report), their respective fan bases greatly supported the idea.
The joint jaunt would be a timely one as well as both divas have new albums expected to hit shelves later this year.
