One week has passed since Danity Kane dramatically broke up for the second time.
And though it appears the ladies are done for good following a violent studio assault, their ever-loyal fans have been holding out for news on their completed third album.
The set, which spawned Summer sizzler ‘Lemonade’, was due for release later this year and many had hoped it’d still be released as a “Thank You” of sorts to their supporters.
Silence has generally greeted such requests, however today saw member Dawn Richard offer an answer.
See what she had to say below…
Tragic. Like, this is literally a Pop tragedy. So close, yet so far.
The optimists in us had hoped that by some miraculous occurrence the album would still be able to be released. Yet, Dawn’s statement quickly brought about the reminder that that’s just not how the industry works. Labels, producers, writers and the likes have to recoup on the time and money spent. As such, it’s likely that the masses will indeed hear the material on the abandoned DK3 album….jus via other artists, who’ll likely be sold the songs. Again, tragic.
This, folk, is the reality of Danity Kane.
