Because the embattled mogul has been accused of sexual assault by another woman.

In a newly filed suit, a woman – identified as Jane Doe – claims she was flown on a private jet from Michigan to Diddy‘s recording studio in New York City.
She alleges that she was raped by three people, including Diddy and Harve Pierre, the then-president of Bad Boy Entertainment.
At the time of the alleged incident (2003), she was 17 years old.
The woman alleges she was plied with“copious amounts” of drugs and alcohol; stressing that Diddy raped her over a bathroom sink while she went in and out of consciousness. She says the star watched as a third man also raped her.
As for the timing of the suit, the Jane Doe says she was encouraged by the suits of other women – including Cassie’s bombshell filing which was settled “amicably” in less than 48 hours.
Speaking on the suit, the woman’s legal filing read:
“Seeing two other women bravely speak out against Mr. Combs (Diddy) and Mr. Pierre, respectively, gave Ms. Doe the confidence to tell her story as well.”
Her legal rep added:
“As alleged in the complaint, Defendants preyed on a vulnerable high school teenager as part of a sex trafficking scheme that involved plying her with drugs and alcohol and transporting her by private jet to New York City where she was gang raped by the three individual defendants at Mr. Combs’ studio. The depravity of these abhorrent acts has, not surprisingly, scarred our client for life.
As a result of being raped by Mr. Combs, Mr. Pierre and the Third Assailant, Ms. Doe suffered significant emotional distress and feels of shame that have plagued her life and personal relationships for 20 years.
Much as New York’s Adult Survivors Act allowed for historic claims to be brought in the present, the latest is permitted by way of similar extensions around gender-based violence.
The news comes on the heels of Diddy stepping down as the Chairman of Revolt and as the 54-year-old battles two other sexual assault lawsuits.
UPDATE: According to legal reporter Meghan Cuniff, the team representing the Jane Doe also represented Cassie:

For all the people who have gone, say why she came out now with the story. First, when you are 17, you are naive, and that’s also the time when older people can influence you the best. Those stories happen all the time in the industry, and people are just scared to speak up. Executives tell young girls and boys, “I’m gone, make you the big star.” They fall for the crap, and then they abuse them for years.
