When not jet-setting with her six month old son Future Jr, the ‘Body Party’ belter has been sharing shots of herself in the studio as she continues work on her sixth album.
Having already worked with the likes of Dr. Luke and Diane Warren on the LP, the 29-year-old revealed Harmony Samuels to be the latest name to sign-on to the project.
The stage blazer shared the snap above on Instagram this week, saying:

As some may know, Harmony has been at the helm of amazing music for the likes of Ariana Grande (‘The Way’), Destiny’s Child (‘You’ve Changed’), Tamar (‘Let Me Know’) and Fantasia (‘Side Effects Of You’ LP).
Incredibly versatile, he makes for an awesome addition to the roster of great names CiCi has lined up for the project.

Ciara’s career is like Hip hop… it died a long time ago.
Cici’s last album was mad good and “Body Party” is a staple on my “fuuck Me” playlist, so I’m lookin forward to new music from her! I was actually cleaning my house and listening to “The Evolution” which slays!!! Funny how Ciara’s “bombing” last year is really just the standard of music sales right now. Can’t even shade her about that anymore.

I’ve never heard a bad Cici album, she generally makes good music even if it doesn’t sell very well. Goodies, The Ev and Ciara are my favs but she has jams on all of her cd’s.

Which means everyone is flopping and Ciara’s album sits right in with the current climate of THE MAJORITY of musical acts numbers in this current climate except a VERY select few. Education is something you should invest heavily in. No amounts of stanning can make up for a good read and no not the type of read I just gave you but a phonic read honey.. Try it

Y’all are so mean sometimes. I always give everyone a fair opportunity to impress me with their new work before I pass judgement. I haven’t bought a Ciara album since evolution which I still listen to often and singles from the rest. I’m a member of the hive but I appreciate some of her songs. They’re fun. I’m rooting for her. Ciara has the looks. The image. The personality. Literally everything working for her. She just needs to work with people who can put her on top. So far I’m impressed with who she has been logging hours with in the studio. Looking forward to hearing her first single choice. That will make or break her.

I liked Aaliyah a lot, she was my favorite but as I grew older and my knowledge of music and vocals grew I came to realize that baby girl was decent at best (vocally) and that dancing, likeability and beauty/swagg were her things. One in A Million is her most iconic album start-finish. All her albums were good though
It’s normal for the common ear to think that belting, yelling, having runs and singing out of your range is “real” singing. When it’s just ONE style. But when you really listen to the character, tone and richness of a voice, you’ll appreciate vocals more. Aaliyah wasn’t a soul singer, so why would she over sing a song? Same goes for dancing, different styles and types, one really isn’t BETTER than the other. I’ll take Aaliyah smoothness and Janet’s sharpness anyday over another hyper dancer that you can find in any ALT mall. You know who else has that? Tinashe, sure she CAN over sing and just be another AI singer, but she choose to have style in her voice.

@Mark I whole heartedly disagree… There’s are plenty of vocally slayrific singers without “big” voices; Tweet, mariah (in her whisper voice), Jill Scott, smokey Robinson, Ronald Isley and a plethora of other singers who sang their faces off and DIDNT have big voices with belts etc. Aaliyah does not go in that category, she had a sweet angelic tone, in studio, and was decent in concert (saw her once) but her vocals were not unique enough and anyone with a half a piece of voice could sing her songs better than her- just like Rihanna. And just like Rihanna, Aaliyah’s voice DIDNT get much better as time went on, her most vocally challenging songs were post the “Aaliyah” album with one beings”journey to the past” and “the one I have my heart to” which, live, were only decent/mediocre… Like Rihanna. So I guess I understand your opinion, you like girls with decent tones in studio but no stellar live/vocal prowess whether falsetto, belting or whatever the category. Gotcha
Her tone, transitions, falsetto,chest voice, vibrato and countless other things she could do with her voice negates everything you said and her live voice is more rich powerful. She was a versatile vocalist and had her own singing style ala Sade. Her tone may not appeal to you which is fine but don’t try to make it seem like a fact that she was just ok when she displayed all the tools to show that she was more than just ok…no one performs at the Oscars at the age she did if they were just ok.

Aaliyah would have like Ciara if she was still alive and they most def would be cool with the Missy Elliot Connect. Idk why you children insist on pitting them against eachother?
I’m not, cause one brought something new to the table and the other just eats what Aaliyah put on the table in Janet’s kitchen. I’m just stating WHY people put Aaliyah in a special place in R&B music and it’s not just because of her death. Ciara had that fresh ish on her first album and was fresh air, but after that she mold and devolved. But then again, that frsh sound and style may had just been because of the rise of ALT music, as you can see, she hasn’t been popping since crunk was a thing.
Well Aaliyah was my absolute favorite- Ciara was not and I can avre that Aaliyah brought a better package. But as far as talent goes musically, Ciara writes and arranges- Aaliyah doesn’t. Dancing wise they are pretty even although I would have loved to see baby girl blossom more as her routines for “Aaliyah” era were very relaxed. Vocally, neither are impressive so I think it just comes down to a matter of taste. Bt
What good is writing your own music if it isn’t acclaimed or gets you no where with your career, and vocally Aaliyah was much better than Ciara I mean just look at both of their white house Christmas performances and Ciara was flat and a little off key. ..again Aaliyah’s voice may not be to your liking but just because YOU didn’t like it doesn’t mean she was just ok and comparing her to others who have not displayed half the techniques she has is laughable.

Hopefully he can get her some of his best work like he did for Fantasia’s Side Effects of You album. I’m more interested in seeing how she went from Cici to Ciara on this record. I want to see hear how motherhood has affected her.
