I like it, she could always sing, just needed a little edge to her. This song has some hardness to it and the quick wordplay singing doesn’t rely on her powerful vocals as much but lays back and allows you to just get a taste of a strong singer beneath a good beat. A worthy offering but consistent follow ups are needed in order to solidify a true change in direction and believability as a modern woman with real emotion and character.

OMG, I hear Aaliyah here and there. It’s the vocal style, Aaliyah mastered the soft rich tone that had bass in. I can’t explain it, but it’s during her chorus and the runs. Listen to Are You Feeling Me and you’ll get what I’m saying. Only one other girl I knew that had this tone was Tyra B on I’m Still In Love.
