The #Beyhive are in overdrive tonight!

Indeed, before attacking 2015 ‘Album of the Year’ winner Beck for besting Beyonce‘s self-titled album in the coveted category, the group had their sights set on powerhouse vocalist Frenchie Davis for reportedly slamming the Grammy committee for picking the ‘Single Ladies’ singer to sing as part of its ‘Selma’ tribute.

As reported here, despite the film featuring singer Ledisi portraying Mahalia Jackson and covering her popular version of ‘Precious Lord’ for its accompanying soundtrack, the ceremony opted for Bey to perform the tune…even with Ledisi sitting in the audience.

Before the show took place, Entertainment Tonight caught up with the ‘Pieces of Me’ singer to get a piece of her mind on the decision.  This, as the #Beyhive continued a two day attack on the former ‘American Idol’ contestant, Davis, for lending her support via Twitter:

Later catching up with John Legend:

“We were actually approached by Beyonce. She wanted to do an intro to our performance and introduce us,” Legend told Kevin [of Entertainment Tonight]. “You don’t really say no to Beyonce if she asks to perform with you.”

Before Ledisi lent her address (as seen above), fellow powerhouse singer Frenchie Davis took to Facebook to say:

The backlash from Twitter was so great that the songstress eventually removed the status.  But, when positioned by a fan for her response post-Beyonce’s performance:

      The beehive need Xanax and a bathtub; a bunch of loser gays and white trash wiggers trying to be cool;

Beyonce gave a ‘basic’ performance and did not NOT NOT BRING THE SONG JUSTICE. Beyonce should have set her drag queen ass down and let a ‘SINGER’ sing the record(

      • Faf February 9, 2015

        Ok

I didn’t watch it but i heard about it

The issue wit hive is they lack objectivity

        Beyoncé can’t always win

For instance instead of being mad @ beck ask who is he

Go to YouTube and listen to some of his music

Then had the gumption to ask who is annie Lennox bc she didn’t Agree w beyonces approach to feminism

      • JEMINA NELSON February 9, 2015

DID YOU NOTICE HER FAKE ASS, STANDING UP & PRETENDING TO ENJOY A POP PERFORMANCE, JUST SO THE CAMERAS WOULD HIT ON HER?. I USED TO LOVE BEY, BUT SHE’S GOTTEN MUCH TOO SUPERFICIAL! 🙁

Dead at Frenchie Davis yasssss sistah tell them bullies Lol but beyonce did a good job with the tribute she did her thing! But everyone has their OWN opinion certainly the beyhive including samantha Don’t seem to grasp the concept of that but what can you expect from an ignorant fan base not all but most no shade to Ms Knowles she’s still doing her thing.

Exactly! People easily forget whats important, Thats why Black Success is soo limited, its always a competition! What happened to getting to the goals together.

People are quick to point fingers and bring someone else down, The stan s*** is getting ridiculous and laughable at this point!

      • SippingmyTea February 9, 2015

Yass B**** as always!! We need to stick together not put each other down!! and your girl cici Slayeddd tonight that dress was fire !!

    • Royalkev February 9, 2015

Great point!!! It’s so sad that what you’ve expressed isn’t the bottom line for a lot of haters too consumed with dwelling on insignificant things. If Beyonce wasn’t performing this song most people wouldn’t be so up in arms or concerned about Ledisi not “getting shine”. The whole purpose is lost if that’s all you worried about while watching that segment!

      • SippingmyTea February 10, 2015

        #Facts !!

  7. FutureCIARA February 9, 2015

All her stans are doing is proving that they themselves are bullys!
    And people arent having IT!

  8. seun February 9, 2015

Ledisi answered that question with grace and class. kudos!

    • Al February 9, 2015

Beyonce can NOT since this song as her voice has NO SOUL or depth. Its a gospel song you might as well had Cher singing this. Her vocals were too much, that dress ain’t proving nothing for her and them backing singers HELL TO THE NO!

  9. FutureCIARA February 9, 2015

      PREACH!!!

  10. Brandy Starr February 9, 2015

Beyonce absolutley did the song the justice theres no need for that at all.

  11. A February 9, 2015

I agree with Frenchie. Ledisi deserve to sing the song she helped make more popular after Mahlia. Why is Beyonce stealing somebody’s else chance to shine when she has plenty of accolades to her name? I’m really dissapointed with the grammies this year. The grammies chose ratings over integrity.

  12. FutureCIARA February 9, 2015

    Ledisi will have her moment!

  13. DanYiel Teflon February 9, 2015

I’m not mad & I thought her performance was stellar why hate a SANGER who Sangs truthfully Ledisi does serve vocally but why should she have to perform? I’m still loss at that…Carry on Folks!!!:)

  14. BamWamm February 9, 2015

Any way…BEYONCE IS A 20 TIME GRAMMY WINNER..made history once again. Her performance was great & she was great..keep hating & saying why Beyonce shouldn’t have performed the song..JUST REMEMBER Blue Ivy has 5 NEW sippy cups.

    Hating asses

  15. Del Bey February 9, 2015

If ONLY bitter Mariah fans put this much energy into supporting their fav, maybe the elusive charting chanteuse wouldn’t have flopped.

    • Missy February 9, 2015

Shut up queen, open a book and learn something so we can get u off the corner

    • truth February 9, 2015

Oh please, BeyFlopYonce is washed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She’s got her thief cap on and is gonna rip off any and everything just to keep her face in the limelight.

20 Grammy wins? Who talks about Grammy wins after the show is over? Nobody. BeyFlopYonce is slipping into the pasture of has-beens and it doesn’t feel good to her at all.

The point is, she had no business singing the song because she was not connected to the movie soundtrack. She just want to be part of the buzz, part of the Oscars, part of everything popular because she is NOT anymore.

She’s not gospel, she’s NOT pop, she’s urban tryna still appeal to the white masses who really don’t want her anymore.

  16. Fine ass lou February 9, 2015

I knew it! Nobody wanted her to sing that song, she asked cause she was pressed. Tacky! I agree with Frenchie on this one, her voice is so mediocre and her range is so limited. I’m so tired of her grunting and calling it singing, child please. With that forgettable A S S performance, even Rihanna slayed her tonight. And to the beyhive, you shouldn’t get mad at someone for stating facts. Ijs

  17. quetta February 9, 2015

I promise you Beyonce is the most hated artist in the industry. Your reason for coming at her because you wanted someone else to sing a song??? And she still didn’t comment on whether bey did good or not. She hasn’t said anything about bey vocals because she know she did good.

    • Royalkev February 9, 2015

There’s always so much competition surrounding Bey. Hive can barely celebrate anything she earns because every step in her musical journey has to be over-analyzed by so many haters. On top of that, people expect the Hive to take everything lying down. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I do think that the Hive can go overboard, but some of the Bey bashing is ridiculous! I’ve never seen an artist with so many celebrities consumed by their negative opinions about them. These celebrity critics analyze everything (her songs, performances, etc). I never see this happening to any of Bey’s peers. Crabs in a barrel for sure!

  18. Del Bey February 9, 2015

I’m all for fun and shade but when it gets the point where people are genuinely hurt that’s when enoughs enough, my fellow Hive I suggest you reflect the queens humble behaviour and rise above this nonsense, let’s rejoice in our saviour snatching weaves and Grammys tonight x

    • Missy February 9, 2015

Hunnie ur probably the only normal hive member; they a batch of losers STANNING for a chick that charges them $200 a seat and does NO MEET AND GREET unless you spend $1000; the HIVE is as stupid as the thought of mush mouth BEYONCE graduating from college

  19. Arie February 9, 2015

When will Ledisi have her moment? Are the Grammys planning another tribute to Selma. They could have just as easily let Beyonce perform one of her songs and let Ledisi perform this one if it was only about performing. I am not sure why Beyonce doesn’t realize that she has sucured her place in the history books that she feels she has to take away from other performers because she can. It’s sad that people are so willing to brush it with an oh well she did a good job.

    • smh February 9, 2015

      1) It was actually not a selma tribute.
      2) Ledisi was never going to perform in the first place.
      3) Beyonce did not steal anyone’s shine, rather she used her position to keep the movement going, by asking to perform the song.

Y’all cry that the mainstream black acts don’t do sh!t, and when they do use their platform to actually bring light to important causes, then it’s not enough and they should be letting others have some shine… tf?

  20. sunny February 9, 2015

That was a horrible rendition, it lacked the power and soull, it’s like when Doesn’t know what pain and being underpriveledged is about so when she sang these lyrics it was unbelievablde

  21. RoyalBey February 9, 2015

ANYWAYS… Lets just celebrate are Queen got 20 and the lessors could never lmao

  22. Navy Nick February 9, 2015

I love Ledisi, and how she handled this…, I am torn because I always wanna see BEYONCE perform. Ugh …, regardless it was a good performance.

    • ????? February 9, 2015

Handled what? Nothing was taken from Ledisi, she was never a performer in the first place. No one stole anything from her.
It would have been great to see her on stage, seeing as the she did the song in the movie. But the grammys never asked her to perform.
If anything, it’s kudos to Beyonce for choosing to do the song. Keep the movement going.

  23. Dev February 9, 2015

The thing is, who are the Beyhive? We know who Beyonce is, Beck, Ledisi and Frenchie Davis but i couldn’t identify one member of the Beyhive.
The who scenario is like mass bullying that sometimes works on the weak.

These behind the scene bishes need to get their life together.

Ledisi handled this with the class she possesses.

    Frenchie Davis told her truth.

Beyonce asked to be a part and nobody had the strength to say no….

  24. Stephy. February 9, 2015

Get over it. The performance was good. Vocally, she did great. But, Beyonce doesn’t have the anointing in her voice to carry a song like that. It should’ve been done by a BLACK POWER HOUSE GIFTED CHURCH SANGER! But, Bey still did great.

    • NO February 9, 2015

She’s a Vocalist first, no way she’s gonna go on stage screaming off key so y’all can be ‘taken to church’ or whatever. She did a technically superb job, going through her range and belting when appropriate. They can go watch sunday’s best if screaming and yelling with no technique is what they want.

      • credits February 9, 2015

I know you are not trying to drag perfect pitched church vocalists to defend your fav…don’t do it. When Bey performed last year, yelling and screaming was all i heard in between pu**y pops and jay-z’s a** tapping. But heck, i enjoyed it!! why?? because she is an entertainer and she entertained. Let’s distinguish entertainers from vocalists. We all know Bey has a great voice, but she is busy being an entertainer rather than a vocalist.

  25. Skyfall February 9, 2015

Madonna better slay she has three songs in the top 5, at 1,2 & 3 respectively.

  26. Mariah Aguilera February 9, 2015

H e l l even Xtina could of sung it better at least she knows what pain and soul is. None the matter I agree wit Frenchie weather it was intentional or not Beyoncé stole Ledisi thunder

  27. Yonce February 9, 2015

Oh pleeeease Lettus can perform the song at the Soul Train awards or even BET. Beyonce did a fantastic job and now even more people are talking about Selma. That alone should be the main focus.

  28. Qua February 9, 2015

I just don’t get why they never asked ledisi considering s*** SANG that gospel song Bey can sing but she’s not fit in particular for gospel my opinion. And I’m a Beyonce fan, it was a shady move. The hive would have had a fit if someone else performed at last after she did the movie and song. None of this makes sense. I didn’t watch the Grammys this year due to it’s lack of appreciation to REAL Hip-Hop

  29. Pretty February 9, 2015

The performance made me cringe from the first note. It just wasn’t good IMO. She doesn’t have the raw emotion and power that gospel music requires. #sorrynotsorry

  30. Gee February 9, 2015

That performance was horrible or average at best it lacked power, soul, and emotion while Beyoncé is certainly talented I feel she is suited best with bells and whistles being her props and she is booty popping while the visual is great it’s now become her standard and I know she is capable of more.

  31. smh February 9, 2015

Since all common sense has jumped out the window (it always does when it comes to Beyonce), let’s clarify this situation, Ledisi was not billed to perform at the Grammys, she was never going to be on that stage… Beyonce was, and she chose to do the song.
Therefore she didn’t steal anyone’s spot, because there was never a spot to take. If anything, she used her platform for a good cause, when she could have easily done something off her album. It’s sad that y’all tearing the woman down when she actually did something for the movement.
And no she couldn’t have brought ledisi on stage with her because she ain’t the grammy committee that chooses who can and cannot perform.
She did a decent job at the end of the day, and that’s that. Keep fuming, I guess.

  32. Alexis Powell February 9, 2015

What I find shady is that Beyoncé ASKED to perform a song that Ledisi sang in the film and on the soundtrack…no one ASKED her to sing it. She sat in the audience and watched her costar perform. Ledisi handled it with grace and class but she has every right to be bothered.

    • smh February 9, 2015

How is that shady? Can you people even read? If anything, it was very good of her to bring the movie and song more shine, when she could have done something else. Not like Ledisi was gonna perform anyway.

  33. Alexis Powell February 9, 2015

Also, bey did the song no justice. That song requires you to dig DEEP to the point where we feel your plea to The Lord. Riffs, runs and grunts won’t make us feel a thing. I like and respect Beyonce and find her to be extremely talented, but gospel music isn’t her lane. Michelle…get your girl.

  34. Thetruth February 9, 2015

I didnt like Beyonces performance at all last night…. Ledisi or Jhud should have defintely performed.

  35. Precious Satan Take Your Child (and lock her in a cage) February 9, 2015

That performance wasn’t as mere far as good as that angelic one of Katy Perry. Katy isn’t even a gospel singer but uhmuhmuhm she moved me like tears hanging in my eyes sackets. I have to say Beyonce, if you had to do gospel music in a church I tell you, you would never see me coming to your church… Girl, you’re a mess and that fake act where you “caught the spirit” I don’t know who you were tryna call, but it wasn’t Jesus Christ. Peace my sister. I wish that you will get sprinkeled by Holy water and not by the salty sea water you so oh love. Leave it for the real sisters, sister. And let we jive in our houses like the Lord is coming. But with you if felt like satan was coming. I almost ran outside the house to get cleansed by the light of the sun that shines upon us. No sister. You need some practise. Happy days will come when you get it right, right now its just not the time. Satan is calling you to surfboard.

    • B2B February 9, 2015

I’m pretty sure Katy’s debut was in gospel…

  36. Jewel February 9, 2015

Oh plese Beyonce did an amazing job and was sanging. Im not here for someone warbling over a song as an excuse to be ‘taken to church’. Bey well done ma. And no offnece Ledisi was not going to perform anyway so don’t get mad at Bey for wanting to pay tribute to MLK, not the damn movie.

  37. taj February 9, 2015

Instead of tearing each other down why not celebrate and uplift each other – women, especially black women. The grammys did not think about asking Ledsi so let’s stop pretending that they kicked out Ledsi and replaced her with Beyonce. Whats done is done all that matters was that such a great film was supported on the grammy stage. Jeez!

  38. fatusankoh February 9, 2015

I am so proud of my fellow behive let continue to liovrsupport out beyput bey for life allthey want todo is bring bey down this lady and her fellow haters will not care ledisiperform the songthe fact that bey is doing all hale Brock lose I am so proud of my bey she did the song justice

  39. hives scared of R8 February 9, 2015

Who gives a f** what the hives think. They are all insane. They truly believe that nobody should say anything bad about slavyonce. If noticed theyre obsessed with Rihanna’s p u s s y walls.

  40. In love with music February 9, 2015

I truly wonder if people would be as angry about Ledisi not singing if they had chosen a less popular person, such as Chrisette Michele or Jill Scott. Part of me thinks that people aren’t necessarily angry about Ledisi not singing, they’re angry at the fact that it’s Beyonce, of all people.

  41. classic February 9, 2015

Please, the most overhyped b**** in the game is Beyoncé (good job Matthew Knowles), she is an entertainer, not a singer, get it right and she did not entertain with that song, she was basic as hell, seriously 20 Grammies for forgettable songs, 10 years from now what song from her wll be remembered, I swear the Grammy’s is a joke now.

  42. J. R February 14, 2015

Classic you’re whack as hell because bey is an entertainer and a vocalist and all singers know that, even Mary Mary featured her and you can youtube the queen of hip hop and soul(Mary j blidge) and she were she said that bey is a great vocalist and great performer she is also versatile and can pretty sing anything. I grew up singing in the church personally and even gospel singers have there own rendition of “precious lord” and a lot of them do to much. A lot of them riff more then bey and don’t have control of the technique riffing. I learned in music class that it’s a gift to know how to riff and bey honestly have that gift. Mostly, all music derived from gospel music if you do your research and you don’t have to have soul which bey obviously has, to sing a gospel because it’s all sang to god. That’s why it’s gospel. Lol. I loved beys rendition of precious lord. People mad because ledisi didn’t sing the song but the song can be sung by anybody it’s a hymn and been song for years. Ledisi did her thing and so did bey. Kelly price version sound amazing also. It’s a lot of singers that could have pulled it off with there sedition of the song. I hate when people try to sound like people, that’s boring as hell. Al green once said that when he had the chance to get notice he went in trying to sound like some one else but the record label didn’t sign him until he sounded like himself. I don’t want another Mariah or jasmine Sullivan because we already have that. Bey is an artist, point blank. She’s beautiful but if she couldn’t sing a wouldn’t be a fan because I have a passion for music. What female artist that you know dances with a mic for long periods of time and still sound amazing? And for the ones who asked who was she singing too, they should be asking ledisi who was she singing to and the rest of the gospel people because they said lord also. Lol. People are hilarious. The bible also speaks of Christians that are hypocrites, who are gonna bust hell wide open if their life wasn’t together. Get the yoke out of your eyes before you get it out some one else’s. Ashamed ashamed!!!!!!!! But Only god can judge you!!!!

    Great Great Great rendition Bey!!!!!!!!!!!!!
