Here to save the world from the army of hit-hungry Pop bots dominating the charts is Lana Del Rey with her latest album ‘Honeymoon.’

Rick Nowles serves as its producer and joins Rey to unleash the project following the unveiling of it lead single ‘High by the Beach’ which peaked at #51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Fortunately, its failure to ignite the singles tally is likely to mean nothing to album-selling Rey who has sold over seven million albums worldwide since the release of her debut offering ‘Lana Del Ray’ in 2010.

Will ‘Honey’ fare just as well as its predecessors?

Slayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy meeeeeee queeen. Still not as flawless as Born To Die, but better than Ultraviolence. Freak, Art Deco and Swan Song are lifeeeeee

I like lana but UV and HM just aren’t it for me…. BTD and Paradise slayed my life tho…..

    • JOHNVIDAL September 18, 2015

You crazy. Ultraviolence is a much better album than Born to Die. Less commercial, but superior musically, no doubt.

  2. WRTW? September 18, 2015

I love Lana but she missed her opportunity with Born to die, her sound with the urban edge and her 60s vintage image would’ve taken her places. But instead, she decided to divert from the image and sound that made her standout on UltraViolence and now the general public doesn’t really care anymore. And then you have the fact that the basic pop tarts like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Lorde are ripping her sound and having mainstream success while she releases albums with no buzz, and low charting singles. I love you Lana but you have maybe two more albums like this one and UV and your run is over. How’s that for summertime sadness

You are right about that comparison, Lorde, Selena and Demi definitely are using her style of singing smh. She should call them out. !

Loving the album, this woman is just something else, she gave me exactly what i wanted, i want her to stay in this direction, she has created a sound to her music, genius, another masterpiece, heaven to my ears.

    #SwanSong

Don´t you think Ultraviolence was better? Honest question.

      • S****** Blonde September 18, 2015

Absolutely, Ultraviolence is her best work, i’m just happy that she keeps distancing herself from the mainstream public, she knows her moment wouldn’t last, people liked Born To Die because it was new but it wasn’t commercial at all, this is an acquired taste, people aren’t here for this kind of music and i love it, this would likely be her less successful album. In my opinion is a recreation of Ultraviolence but without that magic that UTV had, it goes like this to me:

        Ultraviolence
        Born To Die/ Paradise
        Honeymoon

    • Rosie September 18, 2015

Isn’t that how much The Pinkprint sold outside the U.S. total first week?

      • nicko September 18, 2015

A black female rapper vs a white singer :-/

  8. Rosie September 18, 2015

Easily her worst album imo, but there are still some highlights, like Freak and The Blackest Day.
So far on iTunes it’s performing better worldwide than it was last night, so it might not flop as hard as I thought. For example it went #1 in Germany, where UV peaked at #3. Not sure how it’ll sell in the long run though.
I’ll say 80-125K first week US.

Also: although the Metacritic page still isn’t up (they REALLY have been slacking for the past two months or so), all of the reviews except one have been really positive. Death at critics finally starting to stan Lana after joining the Internet hate bandwagon after SNL. They’re a joke.

Good read Del Bey…is the rating out of four stars or five?

I’m not sure if it’s a cultural differences between the US and the UK, but your review is filled with errors. Again, maybe writing is different in the UK and I’m just being an ugly American. But congrats on the editor job tho.

    Pull thru Lana!!!!!!!

I’m on my second spin of the album and while it didn’t punch me in the gut like the masterpiece “UV” did I do like it a lot. I’m going to absorb this thing of beauty for the rest of the day. 😀

  18. Ontherun September 19, 2015

    Love it!!!

  19. Cough Cough September 19, 2015

She’s boring as helllllll……! She can’t sit with true musicians, sorry.

  20. JanStan September 19, 2015

I’m obsessed with Lanas voice. Its so unique and dark. But this music is just way too slow which is even more unbearable when the songs are back to back (I stopped listening after the third song). I get it. This is her style. But she needs to mix it up. Sarah McLachlan comes to mind in this style but while Sarah’s music is ethereal and dreamy Lanas is simply dreary and lacking ANY life or energy. Hope she realizes it and moves in a different direction next go round.
