Tweet is back. Finally.

Heeding the calls of her legions of loyal fans, music’s southern hummingbird returns with ‘Won’t Hurt Me’ – the lead single from her hotly anticipated (and long overdue) third studio album.

Uncaged moments ago, the silky smooth cut serves rich R&B and should remind the masses why hers is a vocal that can spread deliciously over even the sparsest of beats.

Take a listen below…

Though not the blazing “I’m back” jam some may have hoped for, this – much like Janet Jackson’s recent Urban A/C return – feels like a smart play.

Indeed, with its lush harmonies and easy accessibility, this delivers a solid reminder of what makes Tweet such a compelling and enduring talent.

A great appetiser for what will hopefully be a full-bodied meal of an album.

Don’t we have enough enough up tempo, turt up, get done, get crunk songs on the radio? I don’t mind slow jams and mid tempos. I miss her voice, I like the song. Heck I’m grown, leave that other mess for the kids.

Yes Tweet I always felt she was underrated. I would loved a collaborative between her Aaliyah and Missy. May she get her props this time around too.

I’m loving this, it reminds me of Norah Jones ‘Feels like home’ album. It’s probably not 1st single material, but I can see this being a standout track on her album.

Lol! I like it. I was hoping for something similar to her “Turn Da lights off” slow joint but this is cool. I know I’ll find something like that on her new album tho.

    WELCOME BACK TWEET!

Bc unlike you, she’s living in her purpose. She was made to be a singer/artist. Some people think that being an artist is all about fame and fortune. Of course you want to reach people but, for artist of real merit, they do it bc its their contribution to the world and how thr relate to the world, communicate with the world, and interpret the world. So… shut up and stop being a professional hater. That ish ain’t even cute.

I saw her in H&M shopping and she looked amazing. Black don’t crack baby! She still looks young. She seemed pretty nice too. Nice to hear something new from her.
