While this week brought chart triumph for Janet Jackson, the narrative was altogether different for Tamar Braxton.
The media maven (whose multiple titles include singer, reality star, and talk show host) released her new album ‘Calling All Lovers,’ but sadly not many answered.
Despite a decent dalliance with promo, the set only managed a #5 debut on the Billboard 200 with sales of 38,000 – exactly one-third of the 114,000 2013’s ‘Love & War’ opened with.
Ever outspoken, Tamar took to Instagram to muse on the matter. Her words below…
Via Tamar:
I’ll take whatever you have for ME Jesus! It is good enough for me..YOU GOD is good enough for me..and you make it that I’m GOOD enough for ME!!!Cause only YOU know what the end result is!! Thank you so much God and #tamartianfriends I’m just Grateful this album came out (☝????️if u only knew)???? the BEST part of it all you all LOVE it like I do!! Fan appreciation aside, Ms. Braxton is clearly hinting at drama behind the scenes – something she’s been doing before the project even came out.
It does make one wonder how much more, if anything, will be squeezed out from the LP given the hoopla (and lack of sales).
We imagine she’ll tour like there’s no tomorrow (ala her last album cycle), and perhaps establish a successful face to the campaign that way.
To be frank, there’s no other choice.
