New Song: Usher – ‘Miracles’

Where is Usher‘s new album?

It’s a question we’ve increasingly asked ourselves since he abruptly stopped promoting the “era” after the slew of singles he released last year. [See: ‘Good Kisser,’ ‘She Came To Give It To You,’ and ‘I Don’t Mind.’]

And granted we’re not sure he even knows what’s going on yet, it hasn’t stopped the R&B icon from keeping his visibility up.

Last month saw the 37-year-old team with TIDAL to roll-out the socially-conscious ‘Chains’ and today brings with it the arrival of another new track – ‘Miracles.’

Uniquely, the song premiered in full within a new PEPSI short film. Titled ‘Black Knight Decoded,’ the video project features footage shot from outer space with the UrtheCast camera on the International Space Station.

Get into new Usher below…

Cool concept, cool song.

One has to wonder if he’s (smartly) finding left-field ways to monetize the material from the seemingly scrapped album. After all, this is the second song to be rolled out in partnership with PEPSI; the first being ‘Believe Me’ last summer.

Your thoughts?

Hope his label or whomever else sorts his situation out. I’m still upset that he did not release ‘Believe me’ as a single.

I am a little bit that’s my favorite song he’s released since R v. R era but I’m just ready for his album

Cute. The vocals are on point but I don’t care till he releases his now-delayed-by-almost-two-years album.

His voice! Usher needs to get in the studio and record some contemporary classics that are also still bangers. If Justin can come back and sing suit and tie, then Usher can definitely do the same if not better!

I don’t think a lot of his recent material shows off his vocal ability in the best light. It’s when he does covers of songs by music legends that you REALLY get to know what he’s working with vocally because he takes extra care to do an amazing job. See his Stevie Wonder tribute at this year’s Grammys for reference. His voice is like butter tbh.

Usher is such a cutie. Plays “There goes my baby”.

      • RihYonce November 18, 2015

Yes ! That baby face isn’t going anywhere ????

That´s true. Where are Usher, Gwen Stefani, Fergie´s album (just to mention a few)? Meanwhile huge artists who debuted 10, 15 and even more years before them like Madonna, Mariah or Celine are still doing their thing struggling way less. I told you guys nobody else has been as big since the late 90s, and this is just one more proof. Adele is the exception it seems.

Gwen Stefani recently stated that she scrapped her whole album to write and record a new set of more intimate songs (presumably about her separation/divorce), so don’t worry ’bout Gwen, I’m sure it’s coming!

…but the rest of what you’re saying is sadly very true.

Surprisingly, his “I Don’t Mind” single did well commercially when I thought it would just do as bad as the previous singles. He should’ve promoted that single some more and then released the album right when it was in the top 15 of the Hot 100 because now he’s at a standstill, even after a tour for the album when it’s unreleased. Good luck to his team finding a proper new single to push bedside this era hasn’t been going so well for him.

Usher is done. He’s probably recorded enough material for a triple set. His album has been in a 2 year limbo because they don’t have faith that it won’t flop and are afraid to release it.

Usher! Who doesn’t like Usher. Lol. I remember when they was talking his album some time back, they said he was going back to his R&B roots. I hope so. I still think he has more than a few Big albums in him left to be released. It’s just these hiatus’s that some of these artists be taken really slims the chances. Especially now.

Good Kisser was a bop, idk why it didn’t do well. If the album was heading down the I Don’t Mind path then it’s good that it was scrapped. I’M has to be worse song ever. The lyrics are so cringe worthy.

Was done with Usher when he sold out and went pop. He can keep this album. The Usher I was a fan of from 1994 to about 2008 appears to be dead and done. I don’t recognize or even like who and what he is today.

Usher from the 90s where u could release 3-5years apart in albums.
Still waiting for this current crop to do a My Way, 8701 and the outstanding Confessions type album.

I’m waiting too. He’s had one of the most successful album and single chart runs EVER in Pop music. His prime years from 1997 to 2005 is lowkey iconic. I don’t think we’ll ever see a male R&B artist cross-over the way Usher did. Chris came the closest but faltered so early in his career. I guess you would say The Weeknd is catching up.

  14. RihYonce November 18, 2015

Usher !!! He will always be my favorite male entertainer, he’s 37 and he still looks so young, he maintained a 20 year career which is outstanding, I’m ready for him to release this album , he should definetly go the R&B route l, I believe that R&B is back he doesn’t haven’t to do that pop stuff anymore

  15. RihYonce November 18, 2015

He should’ve released “Believe Me” that was a tuff R&B bop that would’ve killed the radio hope it’s on the album
