After mounting a monstrosity of an album campaign for new LP ‘ANTI’ last year, the star finally looks to be shining bright with comeback effort ‘Work.’
Unleashed earlier today, the Drake-assisted track is being billed as the project’s “first single,” yet in reality is the fourth cut lifted from the troubled set.
Fans of the 27-year-old appear to be both forgiving and forgetful, because the the Boi-1da production has hit an impressive initial milestone.

As at writing, ‘Work’ – which is supported by an aggressive radio deal (see: played every hour on the hour) sits at #1 on US iTunes:
The song has also topped the Apple store tally in many other territories, including the UK and France.
We still have our reservations about the track, but there’s no denying that its an impressive start (albeit an expected one given how much corporate muscle is being flexed to ensure it delivers).
The true measure of its success will be how long it manages to sustain. One also has to wonder how much of this initial win is attributable to Drizzy – who has been a consistent charter since his debut.

I actually really like the song and just bought it. I think it shows a lot of confidence on her part. She seems like she is just feeling herself and she’s giving us something that really no one else out can give us. That Caribbean flow and accent fits this song so perfectly. And I love the parts where she is hardly pronouncing the words. In my humble opinion, this was worth the wait and believe me everyone will be bopping to this….even the ones that seemed to hate it on the first listen. LOVE IT!
