There is a difference between a platinum plaque for purchased albums (whether or not in be from Samsung) and streams. Plus we all know Rihanna is the most streamed artist so if streams can make TPP 2x platinum, imagine what it will do to her album sales but anyway I’m done. It was also a different economy and music buying era when these came out. Nobody is taking away from Mariah’s compliments because they are phenomenal but the only artist with impact to even try to mirror those figures is Adele. However I don’t think she has staying power. In today’s world Rihanna is dominating that’s all there is to it. She is the highest selling digital artist for a reason.
Rihanna’s album sales are tragic in context to her singles sales. I don’t even know that this new album will truly go platinum, it will be platinum selling from samsungs buys. That shows a big dive in dominance other than, the singles. But as a whole, faded interest.
