It’s been tough times for Janet Jackson, but is the tide about to turn?
The diva hit headlines last week when she cancelled the European leg of her ‘Unbreakable World Tour’ – much to the dismay of her fervent fans in the region.
She has since returned to Los Angeles for what many assumed was rehearsals for her upcoming show at the Dubai World Cup.
However, it seems there was a specific reason behind Janet’s jetting into the US last week, one that will no doubt excite fans.

Per a variety of sources, it appears the 49-year-old filmed a new music video with dynamite director Dave Meyers.

Fingers crossed it’s true; we’re especially hoping that said vid for the delicious ‘Dammn Baby.’
Since the onset of the ‘Unbreakable’ era, there’s been mass desire to see Janet do what she is most renown for – dance.
As such from a BPM perspective, ‘Dammn’ really is the best bet to excite the masses. The boat was jarringly missed with ‘BURNITUP!’ – although we’d have no complaints if the Missy Elliott number was brought to life visually at some point for the mere fact it still slays.
Whatever the case, Janet clearly has some damage control to do. Stay tuned as we follow how it all plays out.

Rebel Heart didn’t and won’t gross even close to $150 million. Unbreakable grossed $15 million in the USA. Japan wasn’t reported, but was sold-out, so it’s above $20 million. The largest shows are yet to come. Patience. / 20 European shows were postponed, not canceled.
After Europe Madonna was way over the $100 million according to Billboard
Once you add the Asian and Australian dates (which haven’t been reported yet) she will go go over the $150 million

Tranet, it won’t go above $150 million. She needed 62 shows to get $100 million, and you are expecting that 20 shows that aren’t reported will gross over $50 million? Where’s logic there?
Yeah but Madonna is falling apart at the seams and making a fool of herself. I just read the other day that she had fallen down (again) onstage and was asking who in the audience wants to F- her. She’s losing custody of her son whom by the way doesn’t even want to be associated with her.
Madonna desperately needs to just stop in quietly go away and be a mother to the kids that want to leave her. Janet is doing much better for herself personally. Despite concert sales, Madonna is a mess.

Well, good luck to her. Personally speaking, I am completely over the “Unbreakable” era now and think it’d be best for her to either release a part 2 of the album with new singles & HIGH-OCTANE PROMO or just continue the tour and then take a backseat and rest.

Janet has a genius PR team this go round. Every rumor and headline (cancer, cancellations) started with her camp as a way of gaining/keeping exposure and staying relevant while on tour. There is no such thing as “bad publicity” if you have a plan.
Has anyone not noticed she hasn’t granted a single sit-down interview with the media outside of what has been spoken “from her lips”?

My biggest dissapointment this era is purely the fact that Janet released an amazing album and then disappeared. I could care less about sales but I sure would have loved her to do promo just so that I would get to see her around. The 10 second Facebook clips just didn’t cut it. Im seeing her in May *fingers crossed* and I’m afraid that may be the last time she’ll even bother touring…or doing anything public for that matter.
It looks like I’m finally getting exactly what I wanted this era … my ‘Dammn Baby’ video! I know Janet will not disappoint! All I need next is Janet to pick the right “singles” to focus on (‘2 B Loved’, ‘Take Me Away’ and ‘Night’ would be perfect for Europe). When I say “singles”, I simply mean the select few songs she’d like to draw attention to (by uploading those songs to vevo or by performing these specific songs at award shows). If she’s feeling inspired enough, I’d looove a short film of visuals for the entire ‘Unbreakable’ album. This is all Janet really need to do to complete this era for me! I think it’s the best strategy for her, she’s a visual artist. It can be done all on her terms and she’s not being forced to compromise the art she wants to offer directly to fans.

I don’t want a new video unless it comes with a revived effort to promote and to perform like deep down Janet knows she can do. It doesn’t seem like she’s really invested in this album and that is a huge huge mistake.

Let’s Not Forget thatJanet’s Team said this albu had a 3 year promo plan, I was praying that Janet would take the time off to do a video, it;s unlawful that Burn It Up did not get the full video treatment as its a massive success with dancers, I still have hope but I have a feeling the videos ill be for Damnn Baby or The Great Forever and either way I’m happy with that 🙂
