Carey has reportedly signed up to star in a new E! series with hopes it will reignite the public’s interest in her career.
An insider close to the star told Page Six,“someone of Mariah’s stature should not be doing this. Whitney Houston did a reality show and that was the real end of it. We hope that it doesn’t end up being like when Whitney did ‘Being Bobby Brown.”
They add:
The singer’s manager Stella Bulochnikov is the mastermind behind the project and our source says Carey’s so in love with fiancé James Packer that she’s oblivious to what’s happening in her professional life. The show is based around Mariah and her entourage.
Bulochnivok was enraged when she learned of Page’s report.
She countered with:

Everyone always says that reality tv is the end of a megastar’s career. I really think this could help Mariah for exposure purposes and get fans interested in new music. With the kardashians, Rihanna, Bieber and the likes stores plastered Over all sites it seems like the stories of the legends get overshadowed. I am a Mimi Stan in no way shape or form but I do enjoy her music and am totally here for her reality tv debut. Her iconic shade and lifestyle would keep viewers interested.

I think this is a good idea. This is not the first time Mariah has done a reality/docu-series. She has a fun personality when she’s in her natural element. I look forward to seeing the show.
