Let critics tell it, ‘Can’t Raise A Man’ maestra K. Michelle raised the bar with her latest album, ‘More Issues Than Vogue’ (released March 25th).  Kicked off by the warmly received ‘Not A Little Bit’ and ‘Mindful,’ the songstress delivered an eclectic set of tunes that found favor from fans of multiple genres.

However, as predictions revealed, the experimentation may have not paid off in her favor.  Yielding her lowest first week sales to date, all has not been lost as ‘Vogue’ still managed to dance its way up the Billboard 200.

Keen to find out what her final first week numbers are?  They await you below:

First Week Sales:  59,000

(Pure Album Sales = 54,000)

Coming in at No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 chart is K. Michelle with More Issues Than Vogue (59,000 units; 54,000 in pure album sales). The start matches her high-water mark on the list, first achieved with her debut effort, Rebellious Soul, when it opened at No. 2 on the Aug. 31, 2013 list.

More Issues Than Vogue is the singer’s third top 10 effort. Following Rebellious Soul, she notched a second top 10 with Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart? in 2014 (debuting and peaking at No. 6). – Billboard

Your messy little antics on the breakfast club are not gonna help this tragedy k.

    Calling all lovers – 38,000

Well who is not on who’s level. I believe they call that Karma.

    • Credits April 3, 2016

I haven’t even listenned to k.michelle’s album in it’s entirety, nor do I plan to but judging from that hot mess of a song where she is trying to rap and that generic piano ballad I can guarantee that Tamar’s album sounds better in production quality, vocal delivery, subject matter and its experimental approaches to modern r&b. And I stan for neither of them.

      • LB April 3, 2016

I agree with everything you have said. I just find it interesting that after Tamar shaded K, K comes out on top.

      • Nadine Brown April 3, 2016

Maybe you should listen to an album in its entirety before you compare. While you love Tamar’s vocal delivery I found it very annoying and was not great on the ears. That’s the great thing about life everyone will appreciate different things and music reaches people in different ways. I have listened to K album and it real she is singing about what people are going through and that will win everytime…I Stan for none but in this era vocal ability is the least, its all about how you feel and how music connects with you.

      • TeamKeysh April 4, 2016

But “More Issues Than Vogue” is authentic and REAL. Every song is personal to K’s life. Whether you approve of the songs or not, the lyrics are still REAL. I love Tamar but her album, songs or lyrics are not true to HER. Its a label made body of work that is good music indeed, but I prefer REAL over anything. Don’t be sorry be mindful…… K. Michelle won this round.

    • Oscar April 3, 2016

      CAL was better regardless

      • Navy Gravy April 4, 2016

She sold all of 5 more albums than Tamar and ya’ll pressed like the b*tch went platinum or something. LMAO 54K is hardly anything to brag about,OH and don’t let me forget her “#1 album in Anguilla” ???. B*TCH that’s the only way you will EVER touch #1 is in a country with a population of 15,000. Your album got PAAAAIIDDD. Y’all already know this album won’t even cross the 100K mark let alone go gold so get your giggles in writing about Tamar. If your goal was to sell more than 38K, congrats, but all you could do was 54K? I wouldn’t even comment on it or dare brag, its embarrassing

    • Black power April 3, 2016

Let’s not even go there, because Tamar DID NOT get the chance to promote that album as K is doing hers.. And if you really want to be honest Calling All Lovers SHITSSSSSS all over this mixtape K just put out..

      • K Michelle Fan April 3, 2016

Actually Tamar did promote her album she was on the real singing songs, Wendy Williams, Dancing with the stars, the braxtons show and Mary j blige tour she also performed at the BET Awards people knew her album was coming out they just didn’t buy give K her pops

      • Cassandra chen April 3, 2016

Don’t fool yourself, so all of those appearances Tamar did what you called that? It’s time you guys be honest how you on TV 24/7 and you saying she did not promote, she nearly killed her self doing DWTS and that still did not help, I also remembered she dance to King and was at a lot of radio station promoting, she did tours with various artists so what do consider promoting. And let’s not forget BFV, T&V and the real. Where is Tamar sales now? People still don’t know the album is out..lol if it makes you feel better continue to live in denial. Ijs

    R& B is dead

    • King Mark111 /.\ April 3, 2016

How? When a ex boyband member only did 150k? No one is buying music and everyone minus a few are flopping. An r&b album average around these numbers anyway.

    • Walker April 4, 2016

Be quiet with that parrot s*** you’re on. R&B is more alive than your brain.

  4. ♊Mølly♊ April 3, 2016

    Congrats k

  5. Quentin Parker April 3, 2016

Congratulations…………..three successful albums……people are going to hate but……59,000 purchase the album I was one of them………that’s a lot of love……….r&b is not dead……..

  6. ♊Mølly♊ April 3, 2016

    Sold more then jhene

  7. ???Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??? April 3, 2016

Okay! Not bad! I see the Angela Yee situation helped a little bit.

  8. B2B April 3, 2016

Come through K!! Love the fact that she’s actually promoting her album unlike the other R&B girls.. And it shows in her numbers. Will say Tamar had the better songs on CAL.

  9. Annalise April 3, 2016

    B+ for Effort

  10. ???Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??? April 3, 2016

    “Be mindful, h**!” ?

    • Yorgo April 3, 2016

WYD?? Singing your least favourite song ahahahah

  11. Pop Royalty April 3, 2016

Decent numbers for an R&B act. She always has decent first numbers that end up higher than her contemporaries. AWBAH will remain her best album and it deserves much more recognition.

  12. Lethal April 3, 2016

    ???? we celebrating 59K NOW ??????????

    • Rebelhive April 3, 2016

In R&B yes! They don’t get mainstream play, they share a station with hiphop & oldies but goodies! They don’t even let the girls tour before the album no more because people don’t wanna book an R&B act that ain’t pulling some kind of numbers in

  13. Rebelhive April 3, 2016

And she still beat the odds! They predicted her to do 53-55k and momma almost did 60k! She has the right team it’s just people don’t wanna accept you if you not bey or Rihanna & you black…

    • Sharla April 3, 2016

Ohhhh and don’t forget about her s***** unprofessional attitude…attitude is everything, I have money, but because she is nasty, she won’t get it…. I’ll copy some one else’s…. When McDonalds is nasty I drive off and they don’t get my coins, her ass is no different.

      • Cassandra chen April 4, 2016

Lol guess what tho, McDonald’s is still in business and still employs a lot of people therefore the joke is on you. You did not buy but 59k did so keep your coins… It just amazing how some of you love to reach..you have artists with worst attitude and they still winning. As for me I am here for the music I don’t give a damn what you do in your personal life. If you are really honest check the attitude of the artist you spend your money dwl at your reach..nice try.

  14. Yorgo April 3, 2016

Congrats K!!! The album is AMAZING! How on Earth did JILL SCOTT sell 65k last least year? I guess K is the 2nd highest selling R&B/Soul female of the last 2 yeas… WOO! Will be interesting to see how Fantasia does…

  15. Lake Erie April 3, 2016

Good stuff K! Her comeback debut on LHHATL tomorrow night should boost her sales over the season. We might can say “She got this”

  16. Theman April 3, 2016

Stop saying that no one is buying music. People buy Adele’s, Ed’s, Justin B, David Bowie, Beyonce, Pink, Sam Smith’s, Carrie Underwood’s, Meghan Trainors, Justin T, just to name a few. Your favorite singer simply doesn’t sale…. There are artists who have had albums out for a while, that are still selling. 150k-200k for Zayn is impressive. He isn’t making generic pop & people enjoyed 1D as a whole. He’s rebranding himself as an artist. Quit the bs..

  17. Whet April 3, 2016

    Let’s be realistic.

When you look at 1st week sales from the last year, no other R&B artist topped 40k first week. So for you ppl saying Kmichelle’s sales suck, you are reaching. Yes, R&B has fallen completely off but when you align KMichelle to her industry peers, she’s outsold them all. So 59,000 isn’t bad for a ghetto country girl that wasn’t supposed to make it past Love & Hip Hop.
    – KMichelle – MITB 59k etc.
    – Tamar – Calling All Hearts 38k etc.
    – Keyshia Cole – Point of No Return 26k etc
    – Monica – Code Red 35k etc.
    – Jazmine Sullivan – Reality Show 30k etc.
    – Tank – SLP II 20k etc

    • Phantom Edges April 3, 2016

Speak! I’m not a Stan but between her TV, music and other ventures I don’t think she’s hurting. Given the right week she could’ve been No.1

  18. Theman April 3, 2016

    K. Michelle’s album sales are good for an r&b artist. R&b isn’t selling because urban radio barely plays it. Other formats don’t touch it & they don’t have the artists on major shows….

    • Yorgo April 3, 2016

Yees!!!! “not a Little bit” is the ONLY R&B/Soul ballad playing on urban right now… & its only 20th on the chart. th ONLY DAMN LOVE SONG. The rest are are trap songs about money, s*x, drugs, Ho*s etc smh. Urban radio is in a disgusting state right now

  19. #JACKIE April 3, 2016

    The album sucks but congrats.

    • Lethal April 3, 2016

Exactly it’s garbage just like her personality

  20. yelyaH | Alternative Queen April 3, 2016

    Death!!

  21. Lake Erie April 3, 2016

I like a lot of joints on the album but at the moment right now, my replay record is “Nightstand”. So Soulful of course. She’s definitely talking about ole boy on that song. And then how the beat drops at the end of the song was unexpected and HOT! Really added a raw edge to it.

  22. You Phantom Edges April 3, 2016

I’ve heard a few songs on her album and I don’t think it’s bad. I think the rapping fits her given her ‘pop off’ persona I enjoyed her collabs (the one with Jason Derulo and Rich-with Trina and Yo Gotti) Idk why ppl are still playing into that old beef she HAD with Tamar. I haven’t heard amy thing about that in at least a year. I appreciate the rapping and the other change ups but I appreciate that she still gave her signature R&B and love song recipe. Maybe what I haven’t heard is bad the way you guys are going off idk but her number and chart position aren’t bad and if timed differently could have placed her at no.1. It’s all a game of number and knowing your competitors. There is selling power in No.1 albums but it’s crazy you guys go in on the runner ups.

    *Cues track* ?*flips hair*?
    https://g.co/kgs/3mzPw

She has fills a niche ?✌

  23. Casual April 3, 2016

Congrats, KM! These are excellent numbers for a pure r&b artist, especially one without a hit currently on the charts.

  24. ENOUGH ONIKA April 4, 2016

How is this good? Whatever. Album is awful just like her attitude.

  25. True Lambily April 4, 2016

Never been interested in her after I bought rebellious soul and only like 1 song on it I said never again will she get my coin I’ve even grew bored of her reality show its the same bs every season so it’s going to be a no for me when asked do I like K Michelle and doing all these publicly stunts to get sales it’s like girl bye SIT please UGGGGH u thirsty!!

  26. Yorgo April 4, 2016

MITV is way better than “calling all lovers”!!!! Tamar’s albums have a few nice songs, but K is the better artist imo

  27. Linear April 4, 2016

These are poor numbers. The reason the state of music gets worse and worse every year is because too many people accept mediocre returns and pretend that they’re good. No album that debuts with less than 200k is something to cheer about, on a commercial level. No album that ultimately scans less than 1 million is a commercial success. Sorry but I refuse to get over how not too long ago hit albums were selling 5+ million in the US alone. Miss me with this ‘thousands’ BS.

  28. Tran anti no honey love time but it okay girl April 5, 2016

K Michelle album isn’t that bad there are good song on her album
