For almost two years, rumors have run rampant that music’s first couple Beyonce and Jay Z are gearing up to release a joint album.
Speculation cranked into overdrive following the pair’s ‘On The Run’ stadium tour, with numerous sources close to the situation going to press touting the existence of the project.
Now, following the release Bey’s ‘Lemonade’ album (which hinted heavily at infidelity in her marriage), the world’s eyes are on the couple. And, if a new report proves true, their ears may be too.

Billboard cites multiple sources who stress that not only was the LP real and “nearly finished”, but that the powerful pair may indeed proceed with its release.
And while the natural assumption is that any such venture would mean dollar signs for all, label hurdles are hinted at:

The news comes as speculation mounts that Jigga could be readying a ‘Lemonade’ response of sorts. Perhaps it could manifest in the form of the joint project – which That Grape Juice hear (at some point) was envisaged to be a ‘SpeakerBoxxx/The Love Below’ type concept set. Who knows.
We’re on the fence, though; because while it’s clear that the media and the masses would lap it up (especially in a post-‘Lemonade’ climate), there’s always the risk of overexposure. What’s more, Bey and Jay are not a “double act” or “duo” as some corners of the press like to imply. They’re both wildly successful acts in their own right.
Maybe just maybe, despite the appeal of a joint outing, it’s best to keep it that way.
And yet…there’s the ‘Drunk In Loves,’ ‘Upgrade Us,’ and ‘Crazy In Loves ‘ – all of which point to a musical chemistry that is undeniable.

What’s so wrong with streaming music, I have apple music and I pay 10$ for it and I automatically get all the albums that comes out through Apple Music so why should I go and buy the album when I already have it. When Beyoncé named her album Lemonade, she probably didn’t intend to promote the beverage. But, of course, people want to buy everything associated with Beyoncé. Maybe that’s why, according to several drink companies, lemonade sales have gone up since the album’s HBO debut.
Natalie’s Juices CEO Natalie Sexton told The Huffington Post that sales of her company’s lemonades have doubled since the album dropped. “People are drinking lemonade and posting pictures with #Beyoncé,” she said. “You can’t drink lemonade these days without thinking of her.”
Matt McLean, CEO of Uncle Matt’s, told The Huffington Post that his own company’s seen a 20 percent increase since Lemonade’s release.
I’m not sure about this! I’m not craving new music from them together, but I do find the Speaker Boxxx/Love Below concept interesting. If I’m being honest, I’d prefer Bey team up with Kanye or Drake (instead of Jay, but that wouldn’t make as much sense). I don’t mind this album dropping as much as much as I did before, now that we have Lemonade! Still, I’d pass on this joint venture if another DC album was on the table! Next year marks her 20th year! 🙂
