It was the reunion fans and critics of Lady Gaga had long pined for. Therefore, many rejoiced when it was confirmed that the 30-year-old had re-teamed with hitmaker RedOne for her upcoming album.

Together, the pair have moulded hits such as ‘Bad Romance,”Just Dance,’ and ‘Poker Face’ before parting ways prior to the recording of 2013’s polarizing ‘ARTPOP.’

Naturally excitement encased their collective comeback, however RedOne’s words in a new interview have poured a cold coat of uncertainty on whether their new work will ever be heard by the masses.

In a candid chat with French MCM, the producer said of LG5…

“I don’t know where she is musically or mentally right now. We tried to recreate the magic together in the studio and I think we have some amazing songs, but then again, she’s very busy. At some point, one of [the songs] was going to be the first single, but then it changed. I don’t know what happened.”

Speaking on his experience working with her initially (perhaps as a juxtaposition to their current predicament), he added:

“I met he before she was signed to a label. There was no pressure then and she did things without asking questions. After The Fame she became so famous and the circumstances were very different. It wasn’t easy in the studio, there were always lots of people around. It became something else and I couldn’t continue that way. I can’t deny that the first two albums were magical. It was really easy. Working with many artist is easy, but with Gaga, it was something absolutely magical.” [Source]

Hmm.

We’ve long loved their collaborations, hence we hope they materialise – even if in the form of album tracks.

That said, as a genuine artist, Gaga has the license to work with whoever whenever in a bid to build the best LP possible.

Given how much time she’s been clocking up in the lab with ‘Uptown Funk’ producer Mark Ronson, an educated guess is that she’s hit a creative stride with him. An explanation perhaps for why the RedOne portion of recording has calmed.

Whatever the case, she has a lot riding on the project – which arrives after a career lull and a slow and steady re-ascend. Considering how high the stakes are, she’ll be smart to veer in the direction that speaks to her artistically but also the path that possesses the most hit-potential.

Not one lie! When Gaga is on point, it’s magical…when she’s not, it’s a hot mess! She really is all or nothing when it comes to songs…but the majority of artists don’t make magic anyway…so she’s the exception! Yaaas…

She´s not a mess some other times anyway. But agree with most of your comment.

Honestly, ass jokes aside, “Applause” was a great lead single. She really needs to bring it next era if she wants to reclaim her space. I see she already lost lots of weight too, judging from her Superbowl performance.

It will be better (and have more longevity) than Beyonce’s Limeade. (Oops. Lemonade.)

Beyonce’s farts probably last longer than the Chartflop era, lets be honest sis.

So basically Flopga was desperate and tried to recreate The Fame/The Fame Monster with RedOne’s recycled generic 2009 beats but realized it wasn’t going to work so she jumped on the “neo funk” bandwagon with the Uptown Funk producer. But her stans will swear she is “innovative” and “fresh”. Next.

Yet Katy is the epitome of fresh and innovation. Oh… Okay!

LOL I know, a Katy Perry fan giving lessons of innovation and talent is just… 🙂

    YAAAAS Gaga
Applause was a great lead single indead. Her and kunty really had a great musical feud going on at the time.

From Artpop, Guy was cute but should not have been easy single. She should have released a video for DWUW because it was already top 20 and a video would have put it in the top 10.

The third single should have been Gypsy. That song gives life.
That said, I also look forward to katy’ release as long as it’s Teenage Dream inspired

Idk. Gaga is talented but the GP is over her. I really don’t know where she could go from here musically.

I never got the Gaga hype, I liked a few of the songs on the debut but then things became too camp and about the image as well as trying to be the next Madonna, Bowie or Freddie (Mercury)
I think if she focuses she could get back in a stride, otherwise she might end up with an Amy Winehouse inspired sound which will be disastrous.

U can say what u want about Gaga but there are very few who can stand next to her talent wise. That’s not even up for debate.

Commercially I don´t know how her career will keep going. But thankfully she is among the ones that can rely on real TALENT to support a long career without the radio/streaming singles, like she has already proved these last couple of years. The album will be great regardless I´m sure. In fact, despite what so many people say, The Fame was her mst basic album musically, she only gronw from there. I don´t even need to address the vocal abilities she kept on showing more and more. With performances like the ones at the oscars and grammys she´ll always get booked regardless of everything. What would a couple of other “artists” without the payola, streaming and basic tactics to stay always present in singles charts? Their careers would be over. Sometimes people reward basicness, it also happens with films a lot.

When it comes to Gaga I have mixed feelings about her… She kinda burnt out too quickly.. I feel she may never rise again. But then again I might be wrong

Gaga we need your collaboration with RED ONE!!! You and him have produced monster hits!!!! (like Janet and Jimmy Jam whom once collaborated with someone else, the album somewhat flopped).

ANYWAYS since I love your music and talent, GAGA, all the best for you and whatever you decide best for you. We just pray that you will be able to produce hits after hits like the FAME(MONSTER) AND BORN THIS WAY!!!
