Lady Gaga‘s comeback plans may be taking her to Las Vegas!

Her next studio album will follow 2013’s ‘ARTPOP’ and stand as her fourth under her current contract with Interscope.
This year, it seems she may be planning to support the set with a Las Vegas residency after her former manager Troy Carter steered Meghan Trainor’s career to glory.
I’m hearing that Lady Gaga also has been set to appear in residency at the Park Theater. Gaga also is a frequent Las Vegas performer who has shown range as a pop-arena headliner and music-hall chanteuse in her appearances with Tony Bennett at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan. She also soared in her show-closing “New York, New York” performance at “Sinatra at 100: An All-Star Grammy Concert” CBS special recorded at Encore Theater in December.
Keep in mind, no specific headliner at the Park Theater has been formally confirmed by MGM Resorts officials. A company spokeswoman said Thursday, “At this moment, it is all speculation as we are not ready to make any announcements regarding talent for the Park Theater.”
A residency would see her follow in the stage-storming footsteps of Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Britney Spears.

She rushed through so many gimmicks and scandals in the space of three albums, instead of spacing them out like Hœhanna does. Gagz doesn’t have ‘eras’, she just hops on to whatever scandal is popping at the time. She’ll never be on Madge’s level and she peaked too quickly. Why have one huge-selling album and a bunch of flops, when you can have longevity and impact?

I don’t feel like Gaga is done. She only had one album that didn’t perform that well. I think she should release another album and go on tour. It’s too early in her career to do Vegas.
Actually she’s had two. When the smoke cleared, Born This Way didn’t perform up to full commercial expectation. ARTPOP was supposed to be a more lighthearted return-to-form era, but did even worse. That Tony Bennett duet album was a desperate scheme to try to clean up her image after it became tragically obvious that people were so sick of her previous stunts that a backlash was in progress. Now that backlash has basically turned to apathy and so she’s off to Vegas.
Rihanna´s album flopped hard, way more than any Gaga album, not to mention she never sold huge way, same with Katy Perry. However, Gaga preders to keep slaying the pretige circuits now that she laftsome of her biggest gimmicks behind, while the others have no problem on releasing generic stuff prepared for radio one after the other. That´s the difference. Gaga can have a career based on talent alone like she has just shown these last couple of years, the other two cannot. Rihanna (her team) tried to release something better last year and she couldn´t even release it because of how bad it was doing. And even after going back to the generic route her album flopped hard. Katy Perry has been smart separating her eras this much. But it´s not like she is a f****** 30-year-old woman who releases music a 18-year-old girl would release and that cannot sing to save her life. So… 🙂 It´s all a matter of taste. Some people prefer talented artists.

The problem is that they all started their careers in the 80s and 90s. Flopga started in 2008. This is sad and tragic. If she takes this deal she is officially a has been. Her career is the equivalent to a cheap firework. Loud and bright initially, getting everyone’s hopes up only to burn out quickly and be forgotten by the next firework. Poor her. 2009-2013.

Adele/21 pretty much ended Gaga. Before that she basically owned the industry from 2009-2011. Everything was about her, she was “It”. Then ’21’ came along and Adele displaced her as the industry standard. After having been bumped from the top of mountain, Gaga hasn’t been able to adjust.
True. It’s not an artists PEAK that matters. No one is going to be at the very top or sell X-amount of albums forever. It’s how well they’re able to adjust and maintain AFTER they peak that separates the fads from the icons. Gaga’s rise and fall were both too quick. Usually most big artists will have at least two huge selling album eras before sales start tapering off. Gaga only had one, The Fame. BTW was successful, but was a noticeable drop from its predecessor. That probably could have been swept under the rug with her team continuing to market her as the biggest thing in music had 21 not come along and made it totally impossible.

If this is true, there’s no way in hell she’s gonna have a proper comeback. This move will pretty much allow Katy to drown whatever is left of her career. She better stop playing games and release new music PRONTO before Katy releases cause we already know which single out of “Roar” and “Applause” went straight to #1 and won the battle of the singles.
Gaga thought she was leading some kind of misfit revolution. Like an army of bullied kids anointing her as their leader was going to catapult her to world domination, or something. But her cartoony theatrics and melodramatic silliness might actually work for a showy town like Vegas, so more power to her. I guess.
How many sad people really. Gaga is super talented. Once a commercial career is over, a talented artist can still have a career, which is her case. It won´t happen with other mentioned here. It´s funny that these comments totally avoid the most important of all things in music: TALENT! She can do pretty much everything like she has been showing. Praise for every type of performance (except haters of course) and booked for every impportant event even without “hit singles” or any album to be seen. One can look at things from different perspectives. If digital singles is the way you measure music then you may have forgotten about her, if you care about talent, then you probably have been enjoying her profusely these last years. As you can see, the main difference is that in general, people and industry tended to reward talented people in the past, while some of the most talented now are far from topping “singles charts”. Although seeing how pathetic those lists are they are probably not even interested in being a part.
