Lady Gaga is #1. Not just on the iTunes album tally, but on the single count too.
Dive below for details…
As reported, Carpool Karaoke helped ‘Joanne’ jam ‘Million Reasons’ drive to the upper echelon of the US retailer.
Now, the haunting ballad has blazed its way past the likes of Drake and The Chainsmokers to clench the top spot.
Echoing earlier sentiments, the song’s re-fuelling suggests Gaga may have scored the elusive hit the LP’s campaign has been waiting for.
For, it’s not the trigger-buy that so many new songs enjoy because it’s been out for several weeks. Rather, it’s clear the exposure of ‘Carpool’ has been a blessing from above.
Elsewhere on the tally, Gaga occupies two other placements in the top 20; ‘A-YO’ sits at #13, while lead single ‘Perfect Illusion’ is at #20.
Congrats are definitely in order. It will be interesting, though, to see which way radio flows. Will Gaga garner the support that will allow ‘Million’ to blow up on the airwaves? Will its streams follow the same upward trajectory? Both questions are important given the various variables that help decide placements on the Hot 100.
For now, however, slay Gaga!
