I’m all for second chances but perhaps they should have given another artist a chance this time. It is nobody’s fault but Mariah’s that she did not pull through last year’s performance. A professional performer can handle whatever technical difficulties happen in a live performance, including actually singing live. I wish they would have booked Beyonce, Bruno Mars, or even Chris Brown this year instead of Mariah. Those artists can dance and sing and know how to still perform in the event technical difficulties occur.

Beyonce doesn’t do things like this…

    • Oh December 30, 2017

Well Mariah is not chris brown, or beyonce. In fact dancing is not the women’s forte, she is known for her voice. So if there is technical difficulties in the sound, how can a vocalist pull through…. in Times Square, on New Year’s Eve? I mean in a Hall, where people can be quiet while she sings, but Times Square? Lord folks let’s be at least understanding of the actual situation

All she had to do was sing. When she tried to sing her voice was not there which means she purposefully planned to lip synch the performance last year and when a playback track was used instead of the lip synch version she was not prepared to sing live. That is nobody’s fault but Mariah’s. A professional performer could have easily tackled that by just singing the song live. The loud audience would have even helped the performer sing it. I do not have to be “understanding” of the nonsense excuses you are projecting but I am certainly aware that Mariah is to blame for last year’s horrible performance. Ive seen Beyonce take a tumble fall on stage and keep on performing like professionals should do.

Exactly. People just don’t get it.

    • Ughhhh December 30, 2017

You think Chris Brown sings live?

She’s a legend, the song is a classic, but dang is the song choice a bore zzzzZz

Since she moved to roc nation she is being promoted waaayy better.

    • Jasmine December 30, 2017

How so? Please explain. I’m sure her fans want to hear that new single with Busta Rhymes and get a release date and tracklist for a new album. At the very least Roc Nation could officially add her to their website but they have not even done that yet. Booking her for a NYE gig could be done easily without management through a booking agent.

Team Mariah FOREVA! This is the performance that everyone wants to see, everyone loves a comeback Kid, People will watch to see her win and be a mess but the ratings will be sky high and she is going to show the world why we love her so much , she’s clearly in a good place, taking care of herself , no pictures of her with her ‘sprinkles’ aka champagne which is THE WORST for drying out your vocal chords, we rooting for you Mimi in the words of the great RuPaulavich! – “DON”T F@*_ IT UP!”

She’ll learn that no one wants to hear or see her after Christmas. But Goodluck I guess.

    • Jasmine December 30, 2017

That is not true. She has a lot of hits and even though the US is cynical of her the rest of world has fans that would appreciate her performing her huge catalogue of hits. The US would ease up on her once she gets a couple new songs on the charts. Seems like she should call JD and Walter Alfenseif to get those hits coming instead of trying to work with these new producers who don’t get her.

mariah isnt nearly as interesting or in demand right now as she is presented to be. its time she honestly just go into her private living situation — away from public eyes. live quietly like the other greats. she continues to desecrate her legacy.

    • Jasmine December 30, 2017

It is obvious that Mariah loves connecting with her fans through music. I highly doubt her fans or Mariah would want her to retire now. She could easily pull off another decade of music and touring before semi-retiring if she is willing to put in hard work with a personal trainer and vocal coach.

Hope she fûcks up even more this time around

  8. SMH December 30, 2017

I think ‘The Star’ would have been a better & safer choice. That song doesn’t require her voice to do too much, plus it just got nominated for a Golden Globe.

  9. Fancy BISH December 30, 2017

If I had it my way, the set list would be
    Make It Happen
    Sweetheart with special guest JD
    Honey with special guest Mase
Fantasy Remix with Da Brat doing ODB’s part
Always Be My Baby Remix with special guests Xscape and Da Brat
    And in that order lol

    • DS December 30, 2017

Well in that case, she should just a live mini concert special…. w/ as much backlash she had last year she should do Through The Rain or Mariah’s Theme. Lol.

  10. eric December 30, 2017

Mariah has her struggles, but if you had seen and heard what I did on the Lionel Richie tour, you too would be excited about Mariah having something in store for the new year. I’ve been wanting to see her in concert since the Daydream album, and I was not disappointed.

    • Jasmine December 30, 2017

You should have went to her “Adventures of Mimi” tour. You would have loved that tour.

  11. JOHNVIDAL December 30, 2017

So despite the laughing stoke his performance was last year (undeservengly so, not to that point), she still has been touring all year and now is allowed to come back for this and her timeless Xmas music has achieved new heights THIS YEAR? But some of you are swearing nobody wants anything from mariah???? LMAO At this point it is obvious she´ll prevail for eternity no matter what. Just accept it. A true great.

    • Shaquiiii December 31, 2017

AGREED. People love to hate Mariah. I don’t know why but they do. However, she always has the last laugh.

  12. Shaquiiii December 31, 2017

She is going to slay. No one comes back like Mariah.
