Ciara delivered new dance jam ‘Dose’ this morning and is already drumming up buzz for its accompanying video.
The Darkchild production is the latest to be lifted from the Grammy winner’s incoming seventh studio album – the follow-up to ‘Jackie’ which dropped in 2015. It follows viral smash ‘Level Up’ and buzz cut ‘Freak Me.’
A high-octane affair, the song will be paired with a equally high-energy visual, one which fuses pulsating choreography with drum-line elements.
Ahead of its imminent arrival, CiCi has shared a behind the scenes look at the Atlanta rehearsals.
Joined by longtime choreographer Jamaica Craft and a troop of dancers, Mrs Wilson shows up and shows out.

Im rooting for ALL black women! I don’t have time for the s**** mentality ! I like what she is talking about and I like how she carry’s herself. I don’t need anyone to tell me its ok to like Ciara or this song! I just do! GO CI CI
Amen.
Hmmmm…we shall see.
This may sound strange but for Citra to have a successful comeback she also has to have a crossover pop song too. I love this song Dose. It would have been an instant smash 1999-2007. I love this song but this is not the kind of music urban radio supports. She needs a pop smash like Britney”s Work B|tch that will get pop radio play.
Do you not remember the whole “Jackie” where she did pop in the style of Britney and it failed tremendously and she sold 19,000 records? Ciara has decided to stop chart chasing and force push whatever her and her fans like, which is a great idea as chart chasing only works now for rappers, new artist and pop artist. “Freak Me” was a great nod to pop radio but it was only a promo single. Maybe it will go for adds and crossover. “Dose” has some kind of deal with ESPN so she’s ok for now.
Tori you made a good point. I feel l when she or her team chart chases she falls flat. She didn’t chart chase with the evolution and album was successful. She should just do her! I’m ready for this video!
Tori there is nothing memorable or truly pop on Jackie. The reason the album flopped was because the album lacked potential hits. To be a pop song she would have to lose her ebonics. Ironically her hit singles back in the day are the songs where the lyrics are minimal and there are hardly any ebonics (Like a Boy / Promise / Goodies). Jackie was certainly not similar to any Britney Spears album. Jackie was Ciara making a flop trap and dance album with 1 pop song on it. I think what Ciara’s “fans” want is unknown and irrelevant at this point. Real fans buy their artists’ music so if an artist is flopping over and over that means she does not have many real fans left so she has to start from scratch and “chase those charts” to be successful. An artist’s career will never thrive in making music for fans that do not exist! She needs some pop smashes so that pop radio supports her.
Unfortunately Rasputia is right – it’s basic economics. If you don’t have enough fans and you’re not chasing a radio hit – you will get dropped because you won’t sell enough records. Crossover Radio Hit = INCREASED FAN BASE = MORE SALES = STAY SIGNED TO A MAJOR LABEL
Jackie was an awful album (bar ‘I Bet‘) because they were poorly written and produced Pop songs. Just like Nicole Scherzinger – Ciara does not know how to choose a great Pop Song and her A&R has no clue how to position her to crossover.
Freak Me was promising – And although we love to see Ciara dancing ‘Dose‘ will not increase her fanbase or attract the attention of Radio.
Song is WACK!!!! Ciara stay flopping.
Don’t really see this song going anywhere for her! Her best chance was her 1st single level up… anyways good luck on that…
she need to work with justin again…and russel is not smiling anymore
