Finally! Janet Jackson To Be Inducted Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

Published: Thursday 13th Dec 2018 by Sam

Janet Jackson has done it!

After non-three consecutive years on the nominees ballot, the Queen of Pop has been confirmed for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

One of the highest honors attainable for any musician, Jackson’s entry is notable on several fronts.

Full story below…

Leading the list, the superstar singer and the following make up the class of 2019:

Janet Jackson
Def Leppard

Stevie Nicks
The Cure
The Zombies
Roxy Music

Though eligible for over a decade (2007), Jackson was first put on the longlist for the class of 2016. Snubbed then, she would go on to be nominated for entry in 2017 – but was again shut-out.

Third time’s clearly a charm, because Ms. Jackson is officially set for the coveted Hall.

Perhaps it’s divine timing, as her entry will tally with the 30th anniversary of her groundbreaking and game-changing ‘Rhythm Nation’ album.

In being welcomed into the Hall, the diva joins an elite list of names including brothers Michael Jackson (solo), The Jackson 5 (group), Madonna, and Prince.

Speaking on the honor, she said in a statement:

“Thank you Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I am truly honored and I am happy to be in there with my brothers.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2019 Induction Ceremony, presented by Klipsch Audio, will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on March 29th 2019.

Congrats to Janet and all the other inductees!

The stars have definitely aligned for Janet. She came back from the wilderness snatched body and tour with choreography and energy that was a SLAY ? Imma need her to slay a live award show performance, drop the Netflix documentary as a lead up to an album campaign with classic Janet tracks with a twist and drop some well executed video treatments with choreo, multiple looks, and storylines. Go on Miss Janet ???

  11. Paulo December 13, 2018

How she get in before Beyonce, hell no I demand a recount or something

    • Garcón December 13, 2018

You sound stupid AF! You have to be a troll to even think that Beyoncé is even eligible right now for the RRHOF. These kids, I tell ya…You can however demand a recount of these nuts in your mouth! ?

      • Boytoy1814 December 14, 2018

These music rookies stay coming outta pocket. Smh If it wasn’t for Janet there
would be no Beyonce. Let that sink in.

    • Caleb December 13, 2018

Beyonce won’t be eligible as a member of Destiny’s Child for another 3-4 years, and as a solo act for another 6.

      • Garcón December 13, 2018

She won’t be eligible with Destiny’s Child until 5 years. DC’s first album came out in 1998. She won’t be eligible as a solo artist until another 10 years. DIL came out in 2003.

  18. Antincia Foster December 13, 2018

  19. Fast_Persuader December 13, 2018

?Final-fuqing-ly!! This makes me so happy! ??

This honor is long overdue for a woman who has been contributing to the world of entertainment and ‘rock-n-roll’ (not to mention her countless generous philanthropic contributions) since she was SEVEN YEARS OLD.

And Janet shares the graduating class with a few of my other Favs, Stevie Nicks, Def Leppard, Radiohead and Roxy Music. ❤

  20. Jujumanji December 13, 2018

Its about damn time! Congrats Janet.

  21. RoyalKev December 13, 2018

Really nice to see a true QUEEN get their flowers! Janet’s one of a kind and there is simply No denying her what she’s due! I knew it would all work out in the end, she’s such a special person!

  22. Ropeburn December 13, 2018

Chaka Khan and Kraftwerk should have gotten in too.

  23. K.Isreal December 15, 2018

And more Awards to come for Miss Jackson!

  24. MX December 15, 2018

The Queen of Pop was inducted in 2008. this b**** only got in because of the backlash from her fans calling them racist for not giving it to her. how sad and pathetic.

  25. AMD December 16, 2018

FINALLY! This is so long overdue! Janet’s paid the cost to be the boss and then for decades! However, I had a strong feeling Janet would get inducted this year b/c this was the Year of Janet! She’s her getting lifetime achievement awards left and right all year! I’m so proud to be a Janet stan!

  26. H Munster March 14, 2019

But Janet has never performed a rock n roll song in ger entire career!
