Dinah Jane is assembling her debut solo album, but she’s not stopping the flow of new music in the interim.
Fresh from sharing buzz cut ‘Bottled Up,’ the Fifth Harmony star has premiered ‘Retrograde.’
Performed during a recent showcase for iHeart Music, the song became a firm favorite amongst her growing fanbase. And now it’s here in full studio form.
Explaining the purpose of the track, she said:
“As you know, I’ve been hard at work in the studio, and I promise you, new music is coming SOON! I appreciate you all for being so patient with me and for always lifting me up. I wanted to say thank you and to share something with you NOW, to hold you over until the new tracks drop… I heard YOU and saw all of your amazing feedback and comments when I performed “Retrograde” at iHeart. So here it is!”

‘Retro’ boasts a catchy chorus and sonically is spot-on as far as what Dinah could and should be serving up.

I’m definitely feeling this track and she has her own distinctive voice…I hope LA has her doing some ballads cause she has a soulful voice after her seeing her X factor auditions I wanna see some of that as well!

It’s not the most classic thing or has any longevity, BUT it is a BOP in today’s music climate and I’m here for it! Ironically all the girls of 5H are putting out fire songs! I just wish it wasn’t all at the same time bc we know how the general public has ADHD when it comes to giving attention to all the girls at the same time, so with that they should’ve staggered their solo careers, but I’m loving everything they’re all putting out! They each deserve solo success!
I didn’t expect to like this but I actually F with it.
With that said….Normani is the only girl apart from Camilla I see having a solo career. Notice Normanis choice of music and her whole esthetic. You can’t fake that. These other H5 members seem to be chasing catchy songs and throwing whatever out there and hoping 1 sticks.
Lauren is doing opposite of the trends Expectations and More Than That are actually solid songs and signature for Lauren….

This sounds like Ella Mai’s lane and means LA Reid needs to do more market research. This track probably won’t get Urban Radio airplay as a Dinah track.
I think it’s cool but I just don’t understand if this song is a song that will be on her album or is this just another song being thrown out. She’s thrown out about 4 songs now but no announcement about an album.
So boring! There’s nothing authentic about this. I insist with the order: Camila > Normani > Lauren > Ally > Dinah. I’m sorry gurls, facts are facts. Ally and Dinah need to step up their games now!
