New Song: Danity Kane – ‘Neon Lights’

Published: Sunday 23rd Jun 2019 by Sam

Danity Kane are back – not just with a live show, but with new music too.

After months of teasing, the current incarnation of the group (now a trio) have unleashed their single ‘Neon Lights.’

The Synth-Pop number marks the first release from Dawn, Aubrey, and Shannon since 2014’s controversial ‘DK3.’

With the drama that drenched that project dissolved, can Dk re-ignite their musical spark? Listen below and let us know…

While we’re thirsty for bops more akin to the flavor of ‘Lemonade’ (see: hard-hitting and Urban) we appreciate this direction. After all, Danity Kane have always encompassed many sounds.

‘Neon Lights’ doesn’t quite strike as the welcome slap-across-the-face we anticipated, but it does serve as a tasty appetiser for (hopefully) more to come.

Avid DK fan here, I agree it’s not the urban banger I was hoping for. I did like the musical aspects of it, like the beat switch ups. Aubrey and Dawns voices are gold together. It gives me Dumblonde vibes even though Dawn wrote and produced it. Was Shannon just on back up vocals, if even that? Anyway, nice work here ??

I think dawn sounded better with kalenna. I’d rather a new dirty money album.

Yeah Where TF is Shannon, why didn’t she get a section or verse or chorus. It def reads as an Aubrey and Dawn duet.

It’s not bad but I would have liked a harder pulsating drum beat and maybe a bit more urban flare.

      Not bad though just unexpected.

I mean, it ain’t really what I hoped for but I’m glad there is new music !. I really wished they would have made a video to “pieces” and “two sides” to show what they had been through and how they overcame it and moved forward since they never released and actual official video to “rhythm of love”. I wish they would’ve pushed at least two videos from the DK3 album BUT new music is good ! I hope better and more is coming 😉

It’s not a bop, feels more dumblonde vibes.

Oh noooo. Im not loving it. After the fire that was DK3 I was so excited for more and expecting more flame’s. I’m hoping the rest are more better girls. This is way too much dumblond and not enough Dawn. I still rock oit to Dk3. Please no more techno crap that you literally can’t dance to unless you’re in a club and have no choice because it’s all the play

This sounded like it started in the middle of the track.

At any rate, I don’t think they have the money and clout behind them to take this anywhere.

Artists do not need to waste public exposure. Every release should be a potential hit. They need to open up to songwriters/producers who might have something interesting to offer.

I love DK, but I find it very very hard to imagine that this is their new single.

No way, I just don’t believe it.

Still anxiously awaiting DK’s new single!

I’m still annoyed af that Dumblode didn’t make ANY visuals for their ‘Bianca’ album.
