Just two weeks after being slammed by Lil Kim for being ‘messy’ (click here to read that), talk show host Andy Cohen gets a similar branding from actor/singer Tituss Burgess.
Burgess – who recently visited Cohen’s BRAVO talk series, ‘Watch What Happens Live’ (as we reported here) – was on hand to promote his latest musical effort and forthcoming film and stage ventures when things got a little awkward after Andy quizzed him about his relationship with Eddie Murphy.
After a side eye, eye roll, and quick dismissal, the 40-year-old saw his name atop headlines for dissing the ‘WWHL’ host. Now, Burgess is going to Instagram to confirm his distaste for Cohen. Read inside:
Cohen addressed their beef during Monday’s episode of his SiriusXM radio show, ‘Andy Cohen Live.’
“He wasn’t having me,” Cohen said. “What can I tell you? From the jump. I was trying, but no idea. He ran out of there. Did not sign the guest book — he ran out,” Cohen said. “He was like, ‘He knows I was here.’ That’s what he said to the person who asks to sign the guest book. It was something else, alright.”
The host then brought up another moment from the show in which Burgess appeared to snap at Cohen when he brought up the musical adaptation of The Preacher’s Wife he’s been working on.
“I think that was the first moment that he was pissed,” Cohen recalled. “I said, ‘Oh, you wrote the musical for The Preacher’s Wife. And then I said, ‘I didn’t know that, that’s a great idea.’ And he said, ‘You talked about it two other times on this show!’ And I was like, ‘Ugh oh…’ I think that was the first point.”
“I’ve done 1300 episodes. Forgive me for forgetting you wrote the musical about The Preacher’s Wife,” Cohen continued. “By the way, I still think it’s a great idea. I’m still excited to talk about it. I was being supportive. But yes, I had forgotten. I’m sorry that I forgot your upcoming project. I know I shouldn’t have forgotten. I like the guy. I ran into him at a bar in Harlem like, eight months ago, and we had a really nice talk. So I don’t know.”
He concluded by saying:
“He made an entertaining show, I’ll tell you that,” he said. “Sometimes it’s fun to watch the show when the guest hates the host.”

Titus isn’t saying anything new about Andy that we haven’t heard before. Andy is messy AND shady! He’s been like that for decades! But Titus should have known what he was getting into going on the show from the beginning. He also should have composed himself a little better and not allow Andy to make Titus display himself so poorly and unprofessionally. The only person I felt bad for was Laverne having to be in the middle of that awkwardness for as long as she was. Titus there will be times where a fact may be forgotten from time to time or someone may have an experience with someone you work with and they may bring it up to compare experiences – that is not as shady as you perceived it to be and you should have been more gracious with your answers no matter if you felt Andy was being messy. Because Andy seemed more than genuine with you then he could have been. If I had a show I would have called you out there and asked you if you were alright and if you didn’t enjoy any moment on the tv show where I allowed you to come and put a spotlight on you or your project I would have asked you to leave.
I just watched a clip of it on YouTube and it did not seem that bad to me. What I hate was how that white demon Andy tried to throw Eddie Murphy on the bus! Eddie was not there to defend himself so thank you Mr. Titus for telling the truth about Eddie Murphy!
Andy was trying to paint Eddy Murphy as a bigot who does not like gays but I have NEVER heard that nonsense before. In fact, I heard quite the opposite and Eddy has long been apart of the Los Angeles undercover gay / bi scene likely starting before his friendship with Arsenio Hall and Johnny Gill and he played gay during his standup routines. He even was caught once with a t***** in his car.

Your talking like Andy does something for non reality tv entertainers careers. Titus got a role before he was ever on Andy’s show. And he was actually upset about what Andy tried to do to Eddie Murphy.

I swear I thought Titus was going to be a messy queen but after watching the interview, my goodness, he is so professional, classy and graceful. He is nothing like the characters he plays on TV or film.
