We’ve heard this before…and Kenny Boi back there is so annoying. I miss the animated Nicki that was contemporary & urban, a good mix of hip hop with pop & mainstream. The days of “Pink Friday”!!!!! After that era, her music took a slow decline and she just faded into the mix. That era, she really stood out. Unfortunately, the same thing is happening with Cardi, they both did WAY TOO MANY features at the beginning of their careers. Exclusivity is key! Now anything they do seem done before.
Cardi is just fine. Her second alum will be bigger than the first. In 2020, let’s stop pitting Nicki against Cardi. I don’t see people pinning Eminem against G-Eazy against Post Malone, or Lil Uzi against Migos, or Common against Chance the Rapper. All I’m saying is we need as many female rappers as possible succeeding. If we can have 1200 male rappers who suck but still chart and have no beef, why can’t we have 1200 female rappers charting too?
