Now, almost six years to the date, the Rap diva is under fire again – this time for offending the family of civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

As we reported here, Minaj (as seen in the video above) took to Instagram to trumpet the end of her retirement. Set to return to the music scene with new single, ‘Yikes,’ the song had fans saying just that once they caught wind of the line:
“All you bitches Rosa Parks // Uh oh, get your ass up…”
To add insult to injury, the snippet was uploaded just a day before Parks’ birthday. Despite sources taking to TMZ to defend the diva and assert the ‘bad timing’ of the clip’s arrival was ‘coincidental,’ members of the civil rights icon’s family aren’t exactly buying it.
Anita Peek, Executive Director at the institute who worked closely with Parks prior to her passing, [says] … if Rosa were alive today, she’d be extremely hurt by Minaj taking her bus protest — one of the most significant moments of the Civil Rights Movement — and putting a negative spin on it for a song, even if she was just trying to be clever or funny.
Peek says there is absolutely nothing funny about segregation in America and suggests Nicki should have known better than to include lyrics people would consider disrespectful.
One of those people is William McCauley, Parks’ nephew [says] … “It was both heart breaking and disrespectful that Nicki Minaj would have a lyric in a song that can be used negatively when mentioning someone who provided her the freedoms that she has today.”
