As reported, 59-year-old music executive Andre Harrell died at his Los Angeles home earlier this month after what some reports assert was a heart attack.
The passing of the Uptown Records pioneer – who launched the careers of Diddy, Mary J. Blige, and many more – incited an outpouring of condolences from some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names (as we reported here).
Now, some of those very celebrities are joining forces to salute Harrell in an all-star tribute helmed by BET.
“The memorial broadcast dubbed “Mr. Champagne and Bubbles” — a nickname of Harrell’s — will feature tributes from Chris Rock, Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, Babyface, Naomi Campbell, Lee Daniels, Clarence Avant, Russell Simmons, Kimora Lee Simmons, Robin Thicke and more.
It will air commercial free on BET, BET Jams, BET Soul and REVOLT TV, where Harrell served as vice chairman.”
The tribute will hit screens Sunday, May 24.
