The Weeknd has donated a large amount of money to the Black Lives Matter human rights movement.

The entertainer sent $500,000 to causes launched to uphold the legal rights of black people and encouraged his wealthy friends to make similar donations.

Keep supporting our brothers and sisters out there risking everything to push for actual change for our black lives. Urging everyone with big pockets to give and give big and if you have less please give what you can even if it’s a small amount. #blacklivesmatter.

He made the sizable donation as protests, sparked to combat anti-blackness, continue in the United States and spill out into the rest of the world following the murder of George Floyd.

    There wouldn’t be so most protests if the guy was gay who was killed. Because black men especially wouldn’t be seen out protesting for a gay guy.

      I hope we can have a discussion about that very soon.

      Being illegal to be gay in over 40 different African countries.

      When we say justice, we mean justice and equality for all, whether u are black, gay, poor, disabled, etc.

    Founder of fashion label, off white donated 50 dollars.
    Yes u heard me right, 50 dollars.
    the cheap rat donated 50 dollars and bragged about it on social media.

    I’m sick of hearing about this. Can we go back to normal already. I do agree with comment that says if it was a gay person they wouldn’t be doing all these protests. But the actions are taking are disrupting life when we should be moving forward and healing from a global pandemic. Time to let go and get back to normal.
