Really great dialogue in this interview. It doesn’t make sense to be a fan and feel good about defending Brandy or Monica against the drama that you yourself create and feed into. Some of these young people think that’s what being loyal is, choosing one over the other, but like Monica said, loyalty is actually buying the music you say you love. Just show love and leave the hate out of it.
So Music Fans, let’s reflect on all the many mega-artist collaboration that music has offered us [Whitney&Mariah, Mariah&BoyzIImen, Beyonce&Alicia, Bey&Jay-z, Jay&Alicia, ect]. Now of that list, how many of those songs have resulted in blockbuster success? A rather small list right?
With the record breaking success of song The Boy Is Mine and now their Verzuz, this musical pairing [when under the right creative conditions], has not only proven its blockbuster status, but has made this paring legendary. Hate them or love them,..or better yet, hate one but Love the other, ….their rivalry does numbers like no other pairing. Hopefully if they do a tour, its not the typical in which their is a main closer.
It should mimic the Verzuz to a degree with altnate between sets of songs….and then have one big finale. Come on Ladies…as Independent Artist, work like smart business woman, put ego asides, and make money off of your Legendary Rivalry.
