‘Break Every Chain’ beauty Tasha Cobbs Leonard is no stranger to breaking out of Gospel molds to collaborate with secular hitmakers.
Three years after nabbing a chart-topper with Rap Queen Nicki Minaj (click here to listen), the Gospel diva has has courted fellow GRAMMY-winning stageblazer Ciara to assist on an uplifting track.
Titled ‘In Spite of Me,’ the song is lifted from Cobbs Leonard’s latest project ‘Royalty: Live At The Ryman’ (which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart this week).

So …. Not bad didn’t drive me crazy however I felt like Tasha had to lower her energy way too much not to crush Ciara . Also a little tired of these super random songs and collaboration from Ciara. Message of the song was beautiful. At the same time it felt too long to be so uneventful

I think a remix in the realm of Michelle Williams, Say Yes would be more fitting for these two artist. That way one doesn’t over power the other. Great message, we just need a fitting production that brings out what each acts brings to the table the best.

The audacity of Tasha to put Ciara on a song that required a vocalist, and the AUDACITY of Ciara to think she’s a vocalist for a gospel song 😩 chiiiiiile. What’s next, Ciara? Acting? You’ve tried to reinvent yourself by taking a 3 day course at Harvard business school, becoming an ambassador for weight watchers, hosting a flop show on Nickelodeon, now gospel singing. What’s next girl? 😭🤣 The way shes made a joke of herself when she was once seen as competition to Beyoncé. Sad
