Bow Wow has had enough.
The rapper ‘Let Me Hold You’ took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the older rappers he believes have worn out their welcome in the music industry.
His words below:
“Some of these older guys are starting to look like haters. You not pose to understand the music but lets praise these young artist for making a way for themselves. Some of yall old heads have to accept its over and find a new way to continue on your legacy. Doesn’t look good on y’all resume.”
While his comments could easily – and ironically – be applied to himself since he has been in the rap game now for over 20 years, he made it clear that he is not an artist who is stuck in their heyday.
“I’m all for whats going on I love what these young brothaz is doing. Keep it up you guys are now! and the future of this business dont let nobody tell you different!”

No. This music now is going back to pure violence and ignorance. I literally cannot sit through an entire song talking about murder. It’s uncomfortable. It’s not like we haven’t seen this before (ie 90s gangsta rap), but notice you don’t hear much of those records on radio any longer. No one wants to dance to a 20 year old song about murder. The same will be true for these next set of artist.
Shad should know better and have an ear for quality music at this point in his career.
I’m not an old head and I believe this generation of music is trash. Bunch uneducated, ignorant mumble crap. The problem with this generation is wanting praise for being either mediocre or outright untalented. The raise of the relatable celebrity has caused this. How many young rappers In the past two years have been shot dead or in prison for some foolishness etc…. No hip-hop is a large part of black culture and what’s being pushed by these record labels is pure ignorance. Where is the versatility? All we hear about is p****, b******, h***, violence and a rundown of every single white-owned designer brand. That about sums up rap content of this generation. We finally have multiple female rappers and all of them sing about the exact same thing Birkin bags and p****. In the 90s you could pick lil Kim and foxy brown for raunchy and raw, Missy Elliot for creative genius, Mc Lyte, Queen Latifa, Left eye, Lauren hill, Eve etc…. Now look cardi B came out with Wap and them witch nails now every single female rapper trying to recreate WAP and them witch nails.
