Lady Gaga Teases Single Roll-Out For ‘Sour Candy’ Featuring BLACKPINK

Published: Wednesday 16th Dec 2020 by Sam

Lady Gaga‘s ‘Chromatica’ era has been quite the roller-coaster.

Indeed, in serving as one of main releases to arrive in the thick of the global health crisis, it’s had a sticky trajectory; one which has seen many of its planned promotional activations paused or pivoted in light of the chaos that has torn through the entertainment industry.

Still, Mother Monster soldiered on and scored wins – namely a #1 debut with the LP on the Billboard 200 and a chart-topping single with ‘Rain On Me’ featuring Ariana Grande.

She also earned critical acclaim for the cinematic visual for ‘911’ – which, in light of a lack radio release, seemed more designed to be an album-selling vehicle.

All the while, there has been mass calls from fans to give ‘Sour Candy’ featuring BLACKPINK the official single treatment.

And it seems Gaga may be taking heed to their requests.

See what we mean below…

On social media, the singer ignited speculation by posting the snap below with lyrics from the track. A practice observant supporters have noticed to be a trend ahead of a song receiving the “all-out” treatment from the star.

Fuelling speculation the more is the timing of Gaga’s partnership with Oreo, which sees her introduce a number of unique colorful flavors. A ‘Sour Candy’ tie-in, perhaps?

Whatever the case, it’s clear there remains a pronounced appetite for the track – which has thus far peaked at #34 on the Hot 100 on initial hype alone.

Here’s hoping all involved capitalize on the buzz and get things popping!

Meh. I’d rather see ‘Babylon’ or ‘Free Woman’ get the single treatment.

I hate how the gays wants this song to be a single. I doubt she will get another release from chromatica since the last single flopped. It’s artpop all over again but with less promotion!

You’re so wrong and she will be releasing more singles and Art Pop did not flop still sold millions that’s not a flop silly rabbit.

Girl, the album is dead and gone!! “911” didnt even chart on the billboard hot 100. If you wanted to capitalize on sour candy, you should’ve done that 6 months ago. She is so dazed and confused. She’s embarrassing herself. This was her worst album

It makes sense for her. BLACKPINK are the world’s biggest girl group after all.

I agree with what people down below said. I love some of the songs, but the recent released of 911 remixes were a let down to me. I hope that for her next album, there will be no collaboration with other artists. Hope she has started thinking about new album.

I hate to see that other artists albums get more acknowledgement than Chromatica.
Upset that no nomination for album or record of the year.
